Little ping noise on Laptop (Even when muted)

Hey,

Really being driven to insanity with my laptop, even though it's muted it keeps making this little ping sound. hard to describe it's quite faint.

Checked online and seen something saying it might be a hardware problem (But no explanation on how to fix it) which is worrying as I've only had the laptop for less than a year.

Does anyone know anything about this at all and how to fix it?

Is this when you're using headphones? I had this issue with my new laptop and it was because the sound card was aggressively turning itself off when no sound was playing, making this noticeable "pop". You used to be able to disable this in the "Realtek Audio Manager" program, but that's now been replaced by the "Realtek Audio Console" which doesn't have that function.

I did find this fix online though, which involves editing the Registry, so that the sound card never switches itself off:

So just a few days ago I got a new Dell XPS 13 and downloaded all the latest drivers and updates and soon after doing this I noticed a popping noise coming from the right speaker when audio played....

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU DECIDE TO EDIT THE REGISTRY! And if it is not the same problem as I described, then don't use this fix.

Hey, no its not headphones its literally just coming from my laptop haha, i do feel like it might be a driver problem but i can't be sure.

How very odd, is it coming from the speakers or is it more internal? Is it too sporadic to get a video recording of it?
