Like @SpyderTracks mentioned RTX3000 has gone with a downscaled GPU spec compared to previous gen which was only 5-10% slower than their desktop counderparts . The RTX2080 Super Mobile version in it`s final highest spec was running at 200w TGP and was just 5-6 % behind the desktop 2080 Super in overall performance . Today`s RTX3080 Mobile is using a downscaled version of the desktop 3070 GPU and is far away from the actual 3080 desktop performance . The desktop 3080 GPU is rated at 320w by Nvidia and obviously that can`t work in a " mobile " form factor.... not even in DTR . But as rumors has it , we might see " Super " versions of the mobile RTX3000 series , so perhaps we can inch a bit closer to the desktop performance .

I ended up going for a competitor. I could not find one with a 3080 that was in stock anywhere without paying an extortionate price. I wanted the i9 with Thunderbolt 4 so In future I can use it along with an eGPU if good desktop GPU's ever come back into stock. Although I never got the laptop from PCS thanks for the help with deciding what I needed, especially @SpyderTracks (y)
