Laptop/gaming config request

Hello!

I'm currently in the market for a new laptop, I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to specifications so would like to request some help 🙂

I've only really been looking at pre config specs - the top of the list is currently the ASUS G14 with a Ryzen 7 (8core) and the budget/price is looking like £1400 - 1500, although could stretch to 1600-1700.
I'm wondering whether I could get more bang for buck by using pcspecialist, or whether just to go for the ASUS.
Also, does the warranty with pcspecialist cover accidental damage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That wouldn't be covered by warranty, that would be an insurance coverage. Warranty covers component failures through manufacturer defects, insurance covers user or 3rd party issues.

Just something I would add - check out the dimensions of the laptops listed above - the G14 is very light and thin, where as these “may” be quite a bit chunkier (I haven’t looked at the specs - just an FYI to check the dimensions before purchase).

In terms of performance, how would these compare to the ASUS G14?

The G14 only goes up to a 2060 Max Q, so both of those above are a lot more powerful graphically.

Plus the top tier display on the G14 is 120hz, both of these are better than that so you can actually see higher refreshes = higher fps.

The G14 is a great laptop, there's no doubt, but you're getting a lot more power in both of these.

Obviously the Recoil is a far superior laptop to the Optimus.
