Laptop display keeps glitching

Hi, I'm not particularly technically minded so apologies for any misuse of terminology!
I have a lafite series laptop from PC specialist that I've had for about 14 months. Last week, I switched it on and the display flickered in terms of brightness before glitching (the graphics glitched into various colourful patterns at least), before shutting off- I switched it on again, and the display was unresponsive but the backlight on the keyboard lit up upon starting up, and then shortly after this when I tried to switch it on again the laptop would not respond. I then tried to switch it on again about 12 hours later and the laptop worked completely normally.
The issue is earlier today the display glitched again momentarily, and I'm worried that it's going to happen again- is this likely to be some kind of hardware issue, and is it fixable? My laptop is insured with another company elsewhere but I only have the most basic level warranty form PC specialist and I'm very confused about the procedure if a laptop is damaged/faulty, would I be able to get this fixed or replaced?
Thanks!

If you took out basic warranty then that’s 3 months return to base, 1 year parts and 3 years labour I believe, so if it did turn out to be a hardware issue, then you’d have to pay for parts and shipping, but the work itself would be covered.

Firstly, to rule out a driver issue, can you post the full specs?

Hello Mariongrace,

The main part of the spec is below, however to clarify the warranty terms and your options, I have written the options below the spec.

Chassis & DisplayLafité Series: Aluminium Chassis: 14" Matte Full HD IPS LED (1920 x 1080)
Processor (CPU)Intel® Pentium® Gold Dual Core Processor 4415U (2 x 2.30GHz) 2MB Cache
Memory (RAM)4GB Corsair 2133MHz SODIMM DDR4 (1 x 4GB)
Graphics CardINTEL® HD GRAPHICS (CPU Dependant) - 1.7GB Max DDR4 Video RAM - DirectX® 12
1st Storage Drive120GB ADATA SU650 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb (520MB/R, 320MB/W)
ChassisClevo N141WU (Pentium 4415U)

The warranty you have on this system is 3 Year Standard Warranty (1 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour).

If you are willing to pay for the collection and return of your system (£35 inside the UK) then we can get the system back and inspect it via our RMA process. Your system is outside the first year of parts so the parts are no longer under warranty, however the individual parts may carry a longer warranty (dependant on the part and manufacturer).
We are more than happy to inspect the system and find the cause of the fault and quote you for the repairs. If you wish to do this then I would recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team on 0333 011 7000 Monday - Friday 9am - 8pm (Saturdays 9am - 5pm) or [email protected].

Hi, thanks for these responses, and for explaining the warranty process. I'm a student and I need to use my laptop most days, so I'm reluctant to send the system away for inspection unless the problem persists. Based on the specs SpyderTracks, do you think it's potentially a driver issue?

From the issue you describe I thinks it's extremely unlikely to the the driver. It sounds very much like damage to the ribbon cable to the screen to me. Much as you don't want it to go back to PCS, if you want this issue fixed (and before it becomes terminal) you need to send it back I'm afraid.
