Lafite Pro 14 won't boot any OS, either on ssd or live usb

I've been running the laptop as dual book Windows 11/Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with no issues. When ubuntu 24.04.1 upgrade was offered a couple of days ago I (foolishly, it seems) went ahead. All seemed to go without problem till the reboot after upgrade. Now it will only boot into the GRUB menu but selecting any option, or even trying to boot from various live usb, the boot appears to start but stops quickly with screen blank except for a non-blinking cursor at top left.
Previously bios had secure boot on. Also Windows Bit Locker was disabled/off. When I try with secure boot off, still no progress with boot - except Windows shows the screen "Preparing Automatic Repair". I've left this for over 1 hour but with still no progress.

I'm at a loss what try next as without being able to boot a live cd my hands seem to be tied.

All ideas etc gratefully received.

Thanks, SpyderTracks, for link. Looks something like that - though my machine won't boot anything at all now, not even OS on a live boot usb!

Looks like I've got to wipe the ssd and start again. I can wipe the ssd using another machine and then replace it in the Lafite. But then to load anything on the disk in the Lafite I will need to be able to boot from a live usb. At present it is impossible to boot from a live usb, even with Secure Boot turned off. Can I return to some sort of "factory defaults" so as to do this?

Anyone know how to do this?
