Lafite 2 BIOS update

Just so im clear, where do i go to verify my bios has updated? what version should it now be?

The display when the computer first turns on will be noticeably bigger. You can use CPU-Z to check the BIOS date (in the Mainboard tab under BIOS) which should be 12/18/2015 if updated. I don't think the BIOS version number itself actually changed though. You can also use the Control Center utility (System Info) listed in the download section of the Lafité II which will also show the Embedded Controller version as well as the BIOS version.

ok it seems my bios date is still 09/10/2015. i appreciate you taking the time to help me out. im struggling to understand why this hasnt worked. secure boot is disabled. i followed your instructions, and yet i still get the "error: Secure Flash Rom Verify Fail". i dont know if this will clarify things, but here is a 2 1/2 minute video of my update attempt. (the error flashes up very quickly at 1min 44secs)

Yeah, I think that's the same issue we all had with updating from their instructions. I had to fiddle with the .bat file to get it to work.

You didn't follow my instructions line by line :)

You've now updated the Embedded Controller so you only need bother with the Win-BIOS file now.

I'll re-iterate:

1. Right-click on 'Win-BIOS.bat'
2. Go to 'Edit'
3. Replace all the text in the file with this 'afuwin ..\105_931P.bin /b /p /n' (no quotation marks)
4. Run it as admin.

thanks. that video was filmed prior to your instructions. but i have since tried it without success. here is a video of that attempt:

please note the error that flashes up right at the end before the window closes (you may have to pause the video to see)

Mmm odd. Not sure but there's a few things you could try and I'm not sure if they'll have any bearing on the outcome.

1. Go to CMD, run as admin (important), type 'net user administrator /active:yes', enter, restart, log in with this account and retry (with the same 'afuwin' part).

Once you're done with the account go to main account, CMD as admin, 'net user administrator /active:no'.

2. Copy para.txt into the 'win' folder.

Hey guys

Quick question: where do I get latest BIOS update for Lafite 2??? I mean, I've read here that PCS provides it to us, but I have no idea whether it is being provided on some specific website or sent via email? Can anyone explain to me where do I get it from? Thx :)

Hey. On the pcspecialist main page login to your account in the top right, then on the left hand side in the tech support box there is a link called download. Click on that, then click on your OS and its at the bottom of the download list.

I'd be wary though, seems as if people are still having issues with it.
