or you could try a distraction purchase... a pair of shoes? a new handbag? fancy dinner out? - (she will see through this) you may even have to go to primark...... dun dun duuuuuunnnnn(
Interesting. I try to avoid going in girls shops where I can help it, I could pay for her Creamfields ticket though?

Did you get a soundcard?

Aye pondered on it for a long while, was gonna go for something ridiculous like the Essence STX but decided that was way too overkill for what I needed (I think it's so expensive because it has a separate headphone amp in it or something). I looked at the Xonar D2X's as well but still thought it was a bit overkill so ended up going for the Xonar DX. Was about £50 and is perfect really. Doesn't have RCA ports but the SP2500's go into the headphone jack so that's fine anyway. I definitely noticed an improvement from the soundcard though as I had to put my old speakers back in while I sent my Corsair's back and they were frighteningly good - really punchy and clear bass. Software isn't great but I'm not really a tweaker when it comes to audio!

Snap :) Although I've not tried the sound card with any other speakers. I was surprised I could notice a difference (I am by NO means an audiophile).

Yea I think Tom and Keynes both have the DX as well so it seems to be a balanced card for enthusiasts who don't need studio-level audio performance. It's definitely not bad for £50 and was a breeze to install. I don't have a headset to test it with so no idea how much 3.5mm headphones would compare to my USB V2's, that'll be next on the list.

We're both gonna have to get some Tritons on the list..
ima have to get me one of these corsair speaker sets, seem to be all the rage.
DO IT DO IT DO IT!

Thanks guys, I guess I'll be getting a sound card as we'll then...
