Joining the club, just ordered 10875H, 2070super,32gb Vyper Series: 17.3"

See how long it takes to get here now, replacing a 8750 Omen15 (that died falling down stairs)

Anyone got theirs yet with similar spec? If so what you think?

Just ordered one myself, I'm only 1 day in and already itching! Let us know when you get yours and share some pics and your thoughts!

I'll pop a few videos together when it shows up, unbox/initial and benchmarks etc :)

Looking forward to it!

One question I had, the 2070 super that comes on the Vyper, is it the 90w max Q variant of the 115w one?

One additional question I was hoping someone could answer

I have ordered mine without an OS, I have a product key from elsewhere.

Can I just activate the trial version that forms with the laptop, or will I need to install afresh OS and delete the old partition?

Rule of thumb, no matter who you get a new pc from, be that PCS, dell, hp, Asus... Fresh install, don't risk the hassle that you might have for 30 minutes up front.

The Windows system that's on there was designed only so that PCS can soak test it. There's no guarantee that it's complete nor configured, so always install your own copy of Windows so that you know exactly what you have and how it was installed.

That said, I also strongly recommend that at first switch on you use the PCS test Windows system to ensure that everything is working properly. Stuff does occasionally come loose in transit and it's much easier to identify that with the PCS installed system, rather than come across issues after you've installed your own OS - because then you'll not know whether you have a hardware issue or you somehow messed up the Windows install. :)

I ordered the Vyper 17 with 2070 Super on 5 June and it was showing that GPU as out of stock until 10 July when I ordered. I really want that spec so I ordered anyway and I am pretty relaxed about when it turns up. However I am also obsessively checking the stock levels on the order page by continuing to hit "proceed" on the same spec and the good news is that it is now saying 19 June! Obviously if this doesn't eventuate and it is back to around 10 July, or later then it is what it is in the current circumstances. But a little bit of hope on a rainy day is a good thing!

Any issues with yours charlas?

Got mine on Thursday but had to RMA due to a faulty screen
Gutted to have waited to long just to pack it up on the same day

Well the cause is still a mystery

When I got it it has huge green barcodes down one side blurring the screen. I reinstalled all drivers, but there was still flickering and pigmentation on the screen. I think I know it was a hardware issue because the issue resolved when I was opening the lid i.e. applying pressure to the corners as I pushed it back, but when I was performing the action of closing it would come back.

I'm hoping it's a one off and something just went funny in transit but we will have to wait and see when they return it this week (hopefully)

Did DPD play football with the package?
A broken screen usually can't go outside factory, with all the checks that are made, it's impossible.

Things happen in transit.
That's what I'm hoping it was just a transit issue

I would expect pc specialist would notice something as big, it was immediately obvious to me when i started the laptop up so I assume there is no way pcs let it out the door in that state

All I can hope now is pcs turn around the RMA quickly, does anyone know how long these things normally take?

i've had 3 RMA's within 5 months of ownership. yes i'm starting to question the quality control with PCS :(
anyway, first time round it tookk 2 weeks before they sent it to me. second time, they took 5 weeks to send it back and within 3 days of it returning it began sutting down and glitching on me. you would think they'd see any issues with the laptop if they had it for 5 weeks; anyway DPD picked it up some time last week. i don't know what to expect with it this time, they might take 2 weeks again and then give me a dud that fails withing 3 days of returning, or something that takes 2 weeks to crash or for God's sake something that i can trust will actually work for once.
to answer your question, RMA's take different amounts of time depending on what they're doing to diagnose the issue. since yours is obvious, i would expect it to take a shorter time period.

Are you serious?

I would complain personally, 3 in 5 months is too many for too long. What system did you have, why did it keep having issues?
