Apparently i do not meet the requirements to be in the PC Master Race according to Reddit.

I'm new to Reddit and thought I would post my first post.

A guy talking about Half Life 3.

I merely stated that i might be one of the only people who does not really like Half Life and i got this little speech about how i do not appreciate how Half Life went on to model the games we play today. Among some other colorful responces. which i cannot repeat on this forums.

Really makes me appreciate how much friendlier this forum is.

Might delete my Reddit now :D

Assuming i havent managed to construct a Hate Mob here too for admitting that i though the Half Life Series is Meh.

HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!!! I mean for bleeps sake, how can you not experience a game the same way as I do, surely that makes you wrong in such a way that I can belittle you to your core?

I am being facetious BTW just in case there was any misunderstanding.

I did a review on Steam for Final Fantasy 7 saying how I appreciated the music and mini games in it, got loads of abuse there so stopped posting :)

I dunno, I never was very good at fitting in with the crowd.

This forum is for pure techies and beginners alike, there's no bullcrap. I like it that way

This is the best PC forum I have found and the only one I visit regularly. It is also very educational, helped by the fact novice questions are answered in a way anyone can understand and no one is belittled or talked down to just because they are new to computer builds. I have certainly learned a lot since joining.

I know right. I just didn't expect so much hostility. I think i lost a little bit of faith in Humanity just from that :D

Final Fantasy is one of my favorite games, i even have a tattoo for it, but i would respect your decision and review.

Guess some people want eveyone to be like them

Yeah, a lot of users on some forums are arseholes. The phrase 'keyboard warrior' which I first heard in about year 1999 is so fitting.
I don't know what's wrong with people, if I think I've (accidentally) upset someone I can hardly sleep at night!

I agree with this too. I visit these fora way more than the many others to which I subscribe (not all computer related either).

Although I might strongly disagree with some posters on here (mostly those complaining unjustly, in my view) I strive to be polite. Firm, certainly. Forceful, perhaps. Reasoned, always. But never rude.

There is no need nor excuse for deliberate rudeness. Frankly, if someone feels the need to be rude to me they've already lost the argument.

Long experience has taught me that those who feel the need to defend their views by being rude or by simply rubbishing what you say are usually feeling insecure about themselves or their views and/or beliefs. Those who are comfortable in their skin are almost never rude.

One other thing I've noticed, and which I value, on here is that nobody is boastful. It's clear from many of the posts that there are a great many very technically skilled people on here and yet nobody feels the need to sing their own praises. You don't get the "do you know who I am" type of poster here (I do occasionally on some other fora). Everyone here knows there is tons still to learn and that everyone, from the most basic newbie to the most accomplished expert on here, has something worth contributing. Long may that continue.

I don't know any of you personally but I think of many of you as friends.

Your first mistake was actually going on Reddit. Your second mistake was voicing an opinion on Reddit :)

Still don't get how people even read the damn thing. It just all looks like one big mess to me whenever I end up there looking for a bit of info etc. Just hurts my head!

That said, I like HL as much as the next guy, but I still don't think it was the best thing ever/changed everything about PC gaming.

Bet the people that were laying into you also happen to own XBones/PS4s. Clearly negates any claim they have to the Master Race :D

I might go on Reddit and tell them Quake 2 was far better especially the 'lithium' mod with lasers and sit back and wait for the hate ! Take no notice of these children mate they really are not worth you're time.
