What are you using the PC for, what is your budget and what monitor are you using (make and model or resolution and frame rate)?

HI, thanks for the quick reply.

The intended use is mainly hardcore gaming, and normal media consumption (movies, music).

My monitor is a DELL U2415, usually run a second screen SAMSUNG T19C300 (HDTV monitor).

Agreed. I'm out of the loop a bit on current kit, but assuming its for gaming I'd go for a better case to let the system breath, skip the optane memory entirely, knock the RAM back to 16gb and, most importantly, go for an AMD CPU (that means you need to pick from a different menu in the configurator to get started) as they are better bang/buck right now. Look at getting a smaller SSD or M.2 drive for the Operating system and a larger, slower drive (either hard disk or SSD, depending on budget) for the rest. If you are picking a Corsair cooler, their paste is pretty good, so I'd skip the Arctic option.

The power supply needs to be enough that it isn't operating at its limits and, hopefully, gives you some room for a GPU upgrade down the line. Also, the higher power PSUs are generally better quality, which means quieter and longer lasting.

For those on the forum who ARE up to date, try and tell them: What you want to use it for. What your budget is. What screen you use (or want to use).

If you know in advance even things like whether you plan to have it in the front room (sound might be an issue) or tucked into a tight space (cooling will certainly be an issue) would help them to give you good advice.
