The case isn’t suitable. Case is far more than just a box for looks or something, it governs the airflow inside, a poor case will lead to overheating components and instability. That case is nowhere near suitable.

The rest looks good though.

Oh right I’m new to all this so appreciate the time for responding. Will I go for the case you put in your spec list for me?

That would be more suitable within the budget. Ideally though you'd want the Fractal Define 7 for audio work but it's a significant outlay.

The Coolermaster Silencio S600 would be the most appropriate given your budget as it has sound proofing.

Thanks, one more question for you mate. How long do you reckon this build will stay fresh for, I’m sure there’s a lot of components that go into deciding this but based on the specs and the fact that I’ll do using only for music production what’s your best estimate on this? Thanks for everything!

It's a really solid platform. I would say as it is it will be relevant for at least 7 - 10 years.

BUT, the great thing about the platform is that you could easily upgrade to the 5950x which would double the cores and give significant performance improvement all round if that kind of thing becomes more mainstream in years to come.

RAM wise you can add more incredibly easily should you find you need to.

There's a possiblity that it will accept the next generation of CPU's also (but certainly no guarantee as yet).

Plus, in case you weren't aware, PCS allow you to make any upgrades you like without affecting your warranty, so long as you don't do any damage in the meantime:

7.8 Unlike with most computer companies, we allow you to open your case and install your own components without voiding your warranty on the following conditions:

  • If the actions of the person installing the components cause damage to the computer, your warranty will be void;
  • If you install components that are not purchased from us and they cause problems with your computer, your warranty will be void;
  • If you install components that are not purchased from us we will in no way support you in installing them or with any problems you have relating to the components you have installed.
  • We will support you in installing components purchased from us providing you have purchased them through the upgrade service available on your online account.
