It's not well configured for any use case, no, it's a throwaway system, you won't have much chance in upgrading at all, IMHO it's a waste of money and you can do far better

The CPU will likely thermal throttle, and be limited anyway by the RAM, and the GPU will not allow you to play modern titles like Warzone

If you wanted some advice on a decent configuration, you'd need to go through the following

So i have recently purchased the below specs pc however someone on these threads said it is a waste of money. I will cancel my current order immediately and hopefully you can help me create something much better for the same cost.

My monitor is a 27 inch asus tuf gaming vg279qr 165Hz i have this monitor already and not looking to upgrade it right now.

The only games i play are old school runescape/fortnite/warzone/call of duty and i watch things on twitch/netflix/youtube. I dont need an absolute beast i just want to be able to play these games comfortably for the next 5 years i’m not massively interested in making huge upgrades in the future. Below are the specs of the pc i have ordered.

At £1500 you're going to have to make some sacrifices, £1700 is really the entry level budget for a 1080p system these days. Prices are just crazy at the moment.

I dont mind making some sacrifices. I dont need an absolute beast of a setup and im more than happy to continue playing wz on console and spend less and just use the pc for fortnite/osrs. What would you advise changing?

The sacrifice would be to longevity more than performance, the budget isn’t high enough for anything other than entry level performance

As long as i can play my games for the next 5 years i dont mind, im not looking for a high end pc i just want a decent system to play mainly osrs and fortnite on. I know very little about computers as you can probably tell by the build lol. Any advice on rebuilding something better for the same amount would be much appreciated

Is this your first gaming pc?

You need to understand, no matter what you buy now, even if you were to spend £2000 on a 5090 GPU, it’s the first thing that will need upgrading in a couple of years.

The 60tier cards are already 2 years through their lifecycle, that gives you 2 years before it will struggle to play at 1080p.

You also need to be aware that games like COD and Fortnite are constantly upgraded, the last fortnite game engine update was in chapter 4, so it’s due another shortly. So the performance you see now with a card, won’t be the same in the future.

This is why it’s so important to build a properly configured system as it needs to support future upgrades.

Im mentioning this as from what you’ve said it doesn’t sound like you realise how gaming PCs work

I built one 7 years ago (went in blind) you’d probably have said the same then cause i have no idea 🤣 dropping 2k + to play a 20 year old game and fortnite probably isn’t worth it, i was pretty optimistic i’d have a nice but low end setup for £1500

So i only play osrs a 20 year old mmorpg and fortnite, i've little interest in playing anything else. Potentially WZ but this isn't a sticking point so if i can't build a setup for my budget of £1500 that will handle WZ ignore that bit as i'll happily play on console. I'm also not bothered about max settings as long as i can play it to a similar level to what my ps5 outputs or better i am happy. Only other uses will be netflix/youtube/twitch

I'll post the specs below as that order is currently on hold so i'm hoping to just go in and make amendments were necessary. I know very little about pc's/components i want to be able to play mainly the 2 games i mentioned for the next 5 years without having to really put any money in to it beyond my initial purchase. i've got a 27 inch full HD ASUS TUF gaming monitor VG269QR 165Hz. I'm not planning on upgrading my monitor at this time as it is relatively new.

The specs for the ordered pc on hold are - this comes to a total of £1456 ideally i dont want to spend any more than i already have so would appreciate any help to swap out components to make this build better.
