Is the PCS FrostFlow 200 CPU Cooler good enough to cool a ryzen 7 7800x3d?

Hello!

I'm interested in building a custom PC through PCspecialist and I'd rather stick to air cooling this CPU and this is the only air cooler brand that's listed. Do you think it's good enough to cool that CPU at stock settings? I'll also use the arctic mx-4 cpu paste in the hopes of making it even more cooler as well, but would love some second opinions from you guys. :)

Cheers!

Why would you rather air cool it?
This, invariably people still read the horror stories when AIOs were brand new, none of which has been relevant for over a decade, or they confuse an AIO with an open loop cooler with water running though the system and all that jazz.

You may be mistaken in your fears.

Basically any processor from a Ryzen 5 or Core i5 and up just cannot be effectively cooled with the air coolers PCS offer, you’d miss out on available boost clocks

Could you recommend me a good water cooler from the PC specialist custom cooling options? Would the icue h100I be sufficient, or should I aim for something like the H150I? Also, do I need to maintain the cooler at at all, or will it last me for a good couple of years? Many thanks!

It all depends on the rest of the system as various things influence what to fit.

If you go through the following and update, then we can offer some advice: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...posting-collaboration-of-helpful-hints.88726/

There is no maintenance with an AIO, it's a totally sealed unit, you just have to do the normal dusting inside the system as with any PC.

My last system had a corsair H100i in it running 24/7 for 10 years before I swapped it out.

I think you're getting confused with a closed loop custom watercool setup, an AIO is not even remotely similar. There is no conductive fluid in an AIO, so even if it were to leak (which just doesn't happen) nothing would be damaged. There's also very little coolant in the system anyway.
