Is it OK to Overclock my pc? Scared to damage the CPU

My good God, a lot of this has gone over my head...but thank you so much!!

I contacted PC specialists and they suggested for me to buy this expansion for M2 cards:

They told me that this will allow me you to mount 4 more m.2 drives (my motherboard can accommodate 2), but only in PCIe 3.0 speeds.

I was going to use the maximum RAM in my PC in the future.

I think I will also invest on the above.

Thanks so much to all here, you have been extremely helpful!!
You already have 2 M.2 slots on your motherboard that appear to be unused.

You dont need all drives to be M2, as said, cache and storage is fine on SATA SSD and HDD as those don't benefit from the speeds of NVME.

It's only OS, programs and plugins that would need NVME.
I see, thanks for the clarification. Sure thing, then two M2 drives should be OK. Many thanks!

I have the PCIe 4.0 version of that card, but I have only put one m.2 in there at the moment - which is currently just for quick storage whilst I'm doing some transcoding in Handbrake. If the job ever needs it I'll put 4 x 1TB m.2 in there in RAID.

But for your use, a single, very fast 512gb m.2 SSD for OS/Apps would be perfect and another (possibly slower) one for the scratch/temp disk.

The motherboard only supports PCIe 3.0, which will be the limiting factor. (Though I feel the single thread performance may also be a limiting factor!) A 970 Evo Plus is the fastest you'll be able to put on this system.
