Ionico Control Center Fan Settings Bugged

Just to reiterate, any BIOS update needs to be done with PCS authorisation otherwise you void warranty.
Not only that but it's unwise to flash your BIOS with an update provided by a third party, especially from someone you don't know. BIOS updates should be obtained only from the motherboard vendor or from PCS.

Is there a new bios available for the IONICO 17? Or should it be in the account download section if it is available?

In case it helps, I have the bios version N.1.13A04 and EC version 1.23.00.00

Any update about this issue?

the fix posted by LVAN?
I would like to, but the files are not posted (unless I am not looking at the right place)
As stated, files can only be shared via DM, not publicly and the receiver accepts any responsibility.

Alternatively, contact PCS directly.

Ok, I've contacted LVAN to try this fix. Probably it will work since the test Windows that PCS installed had it working fine.
I will update here if it works.

I've also contacted PCS team about this to know if there is already an official software or bios/ec update.
Thanks for the help

Good afternoon all,

I am running into a strange issue and I am wondering if anyone has experienced same before.
So in my Control Center when looking at the System Monitor my processor usage and temperature are not showing and stay at 0 for both.
Everything else is being monitored fine other than processor.

I've installed NZXT Cam though to see if it's possibly only Control Center or if it's just sensor module being potential issue.
NZXT Cam is giving back usage, temperature, clock speed etc. with no issue at all.

I've uninstalled and re-installed Control Center but issue still persists. I've also tried Eluktronics version and the XMG one too with same issue.
On top of all this, my fan tuning screen is bugged out as well so fans are not operating correctly at the moment.

Has anyone else experienced this?
I will be contacting PCSpecialist Support as well about this but thought I'd bring it up here too.

Edit: My thread was moved to here regarding fan tuning issue but is everyone else here who has experienced the fan tuning issue also running into the system monitor issue?

Also can someone please send me the files for the fan tuning issue?

Thanks all!

Hello, I've just checked and the sensors in my control center seem to be fine.
But still have the fan issue that now seems to be a bit worser than before due to the multiple installations/uninstallations of control center.
Previously I could use the PC silently without control center (ex: Linux or other OS) using turbo mode. Now that mode always ramps the fans to 100%

Like Doomi said, probably there is something broken at low level and during the control center installation it seems to create the fan profiles using the broken fan tables programmed at low level, because so far all the screenshots I've seen show the same fan profile in the fan settings area of control center (check below mine and compare to AVOTACO's screenshot)

I am still waiting for LVAN's fan tables to check if it at least fix the fans in windows using control center.
But the definite solution probably will be some kind of bios/EC update.
Hope PCS team is taking care of it like LVAN said in this thread " I contacted PCS and they told me that this is a known issue and that TongFang is working on the issue."

Definitely strange one. I've resolved the system monitor issue for now by re-imaging the laptop with fresh Windows but still getting the fan tuning issues - exact same.

Is there anyone willing to send their own local 'C:\Program files\oem\control center' folder who it is still working for so we can temporarily fix this? LVan has been inactive for a bit.

I have the CPU Usage/Temp display issue on my 15.6 Recoil (it just stopped working one day), but the fan profiles work as intended, so I'm leaving it alone for now. I use HWMonitor to check temperatures and it works, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the sensors.

CPU usage/temp sensor issue in control center is something that wouldn't bother me since there are other alternatives (I usually use HWinfo64).
But the fan issue is annoying because there isn't alternative, and they should at least work fine without control center. I mostly use windows, but I imagine this could be a major issue for people using other operating systems.
Let's hope PCS team is aware of it and working on a fix.
Probably they use some kind of windows backup/image with the control center already installed with correct fan profiles and don't see the problem when testing the laptops

I have the same problem, I did an RMA and the laptop has returned to me with the same problems, to the main post I add that the fans not only get stuck at 30%, there are times that they do not even work.

A question for those who have this problem: What processor does your laptop have, AMD or Intel? Mine is AMD, and I suspect that it is the fault of the bios / Motherboard of that socket, this problem is the ionics with intel?

I also discovered that the reading of the fans is reversed, The CPU fan shows it as the GPU fan and vice versa, since, in one of the reboots I saw that there was a fan off and this was the CPU fan, showing me in control center that the fan off was the one for the GPU.

My laptop is iconico 17 with ryzen 9 + rtx 3070

Mine is also an AMD Ryzen 5900hx + nvidia rtx 3070
Unfortunately I wasn't still able to test the fan profiles fix.
If anyone, with an ionico with amd+rtx and control center with working custom fans, is able to share the "C:\Program Files\OEM\Control Center\UniwillService\MyControlCenter" folder it would be great to test if it "fixes" the problem for us.

I would strongly caution against installing anything, especially drivers, supplied by someone you don't trust 100%. If you do install a driver (say) from someone other than PCS or the hardware vendor and it damages the hardware (which is possible) PCS will have grounds to void your warranty (that would be negligence on your part).

If a PCS build is not performing to specifications then please badger PCS and insist that they fix it. Please do not look for ad hoc third party workarounds, not if you want to keep your warranty anyway. :)

Hi, CPU usage disapearing from control center and other issue like this is due to the install of the "optional" driver via windows update.

Please note that the bios update from PCS on this issue fixes the problem.
Then, using control center 3.1.23.0 (download from the pc website) works just fine even on a clean windows installation.

On Linux, and previously to the fix the office mode was the loudest, while turbo was 30% max.
Again, the bios update fixes it, but office mode now runs the fans at more or less 40% max, which is not that quiet.
To date, I don't know a solution to control fans on linux.
As I mostly use Linux for work, this is kind of a regression to me, so I asked PCS why the would go 40% instead of 30% in office, they are checking.

Hi Doomi, which bios/ec version do you have?
I have the bios version N.1.13A04 and EC version 1.23.00.00 and using the control center from PCS site doesn't work because it creates fan profiles that are broken as shown in images above (and I opened the files and the values are indeed messed up).
Also, for me previously outside windows (linux on during linux installation) the turbo mode was also the quietest mode at around ~30%, but after many windows installations it changed to ~100% fan speed.

But now I’m happy with my Ionico again,
Thanks to Macco26 I already fixed my fan profiles in control center and now it works as correctly in automatic mode and custom mode.

But I still will keep messaging PCS team because I tend to keep my PCs a long time (5 years) and this could be a major issue if the control center stops working with future Windows releases. Without the control center the fans are simply messed up at constant speed ~50% in office mode, ~70% in game mode and 100% in turbo mode.
