Installing new GPU

Hi all.

New rig turned up today. 8 days post order which is great.

About to install 6750xt but notice the cables that were kindly run through for me are 2 x 6+2 (daisy).

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought these can each only supply 75 watts...or are only safe to supply this amount and I need at least one 8 pin connector as my cards 250 watts?

Do I need to amend this before installing?

I also have a random 8 pin PCI into 6+2 but it's actually a 7 pin as it's missing one of the pins....

You can connect both ends of daisy chain to the GPU, but many people advise on having a single connection from the same cable, so you'll need to run a second cable from the PSU to the GPU. Extra cables will be in your welcome box if a modular PSU, or attached to the PSU if not.

And the 7pin sounds broken....

6pin supplies up to 75W
8pin (6+2) supplies up to 150W
So if card needs 250W, you'll need two cables min connected (75W from MB slot, 150W + 150W from 2 8pins).

I've had a look and I only have the broken sounding additional pcie cable in my welcome pack.

Also having a mare trying to attach the support bracket.

So question is do I order another 8 to 8 cable and attach that or go with 2 x 6+2 off the same cable?

Can you upload pic of the "7 pin"? If it's broken, I'd be looking for PCS to send out a replacement.
You could go with the daisy chain for now, nothing wrong with it, just not optimal. Given that your GPU has a lower wattage (if 250W is correct) than the max of 375W, you should be fine.

Also, more than happy for people to laugh at this but I can't see any guidance or have any idea what to do with this bracket. It's way too close to fans in position above and here the actual support doesn't look like it fits anywhere good.

But that's the PSU end, so it might be correct not to have a connection. The PSU end of cables is generally unique to that manufacturer, which is why you shouldn't plug in a Corsair cable to Seasonic, even if it fits.

Edit: This diagram looks to confirm that for Corsair Type 4 (which the 750TXm is) has no wire for PSU end in one slot.

Looks like you have it correctly installed on the rear slots. Normally it's a case of moving the vertical support part up and down, left and right to get it into a position where it can lift up the GPU, and eliminate any sag. But perhaps this bracket is just not a good match to your GPU. PCS didn't supply the GPU, so I guess they can't guarantee compatibility

I did attach the additional cable after looking online and took a peek at the one already inserted into the PSU and yes it had 7 pins.

Alive and kicking!

May just source another bracket it'll be alright for now! (He thinks)....

Tbh you can probably get away without a bracket just fine. It's not a massive card and it certainly doesn't look like it's sagging alarmingly.

Cheers sck, I used a small prop instead just for a bit of peace of mind more than anything. As you said it wasn't too bad anyway. Thanks.
