Increase in GPU Temperature when gaming

Good afternoon,

Recently I’ve noticed a slight increase in my GPU temp when playing games such as warzone or Diablo 4

Usually the max temp I would get in warzone would be 61 degrees but now I’m going high as 67.

I recently installed the new driver for my card but I don’t know. Every video I looked online they get between 53 - 60 degrees temps. I understand settings can possibly alter this but not by this much.

Any help would be appreciated.

But what's the issue? Are you seeing stuttering or something?

Temps are significantly higher over the last couple of days, my coolant temp has risen from around 33c to just under 40. Ambient temp is high currently.

I wasn’t sure if the ambient temperature would have that much affect where I’m from. Current room temp is 23 degrees.

I have some issues with stuttering in Diablo 4 but nothing to report in warzone.

I was just putting the question out there to gather some more information.

67c is 33c under any kind of thermal limit, so you're miles away from any kind of issue.

Temps will creep up and down based on ambient temps. AIO is not the same as air, it's the coolant temp that the fans and pump operate on

Games as well are not static loads, they all depend what environment you're in, how many other players are in the frame at that time, any NPC's, all those things will affect CPU load at that moment.

So long as you've set alarms where you need in iCue, you never have to worry, the PC will tell you if there's any issue.

But you're completely in the safe zone, not even in the warm area yet, especially on that processor

GPU is the same though. 84 is the target temp, that’s the temp it’s designed to run at, you’re miles away from any issues, it’s positively cold, shoes very good airflow

No game is a static load, they differ based on many factors, saying on the internet suggests x temperature for this game is mad, it’s impossible to have any correlation as everyone’s systems are different.

I know how frustrating it is to see temperature increases like this. While your temperatures are fine, increases do become annoying when you can't figure out why it's happening.

Edit: Ambient temperature can often play a role in this too. If you played games in the winter, your temperatures would be noticeably different to gaming in the summer.

I'd personally recommend using DDU and download NVIDIA driver version 537.58. It'll save you major headaches moving forward.

If you want to further reduce your temperatures, you can (in this order):
1) Clean dust out of your system
2) Blow dust out of the GPU heatsink
3) Make sure all the fans (GPU, case, AIO) are all spinning correctly
4) Make the fan profiles more aggressive to push heat out of the case faster
5) Use software such as MSI Afterburner and undervolt the GPU. You can reduce temperatures significantly doing this. I personally saw a decrease from 75c to 62c in some games. Just note that some games will crash if the undervolt isn't optimised
6) Depending on the age of the card, add new thermal pads + thermal paste. I would only do this with explicit consent from PCSpecialist as it can void your warranty with some manufacturers.
