Yeah you can remove the thermal paste the CPU cooler will come with it's own high quality paste. They'll have to remove that to apply the new paste and it could create unneeded issues

I do notice though that you've replaced a 1440p GPU for a 1080p GPU? The 3060 Ti is a lot more powerful than the 3060, just want to make sure you know that? You will need a 1440p 144Hz to make use of that GPU
didn't realise! I'll change the paste. also, its the other way around! I've changed from the 3060 to the 3060 ti

Are you saying that the build now includes the RGB RAM, the 3060 Ti and the 5000X? It'll probably be the 3060 Ti that you're waiting for. If you're keen to hurry it along, you could consider the Radeon 6700XT instead. That's presuming you're now using a 1440p monitor. If you're still on 1080p60, anything more than a 1650 Super is a waste.

In terms of changes, you can lose the expensive thermal paste. I'd consider upgrading the power supply to the RMx model. And for the sake of £22, I'd upgrade the primary M.2 to the ridiculously fast 980 model instead. Neither of those is precisely necessary as the TXm and 970 Evo are both really good products, but if you have the budget to do it...
yeah I'm in no rush nor immediate need! I'll stick with the 3060 ti.

I'll also consider making the changes, I'll was considering changing the CPU cooler to a the new corsiar elite

I have a 3060Ti and strongly recommend it, it'll be worth the wait

Just need a monitor to match it now

It does, it isn't pre-applied but they come with a paste. Coolermaster Paste is perfectly suitable paste

If not then I'm getting amazingly low temperatures for having an Intel CPU and no paste for the last 3 months

I always assumed PCS just had a standard paste they used and slapped that on it...

Even if they do then it's probably still not worth upgrading except for extreme thermal situations. But I think pretty much all decent standard coolers come with paste, even if it's not pre-applied.

I think it is the 'pre applied' part that's the best thing about the Corsair cooler paste, less chance to mess it up in assembly!
