Improvements/alternatives on this please

I reckon I'm pretty much ready to go as soon as I find out if the Samsung SyncMaster S24C450B 24" monitor comes with a DVI lead or not (I've emailed PCS).

Q: In the meantime, my recently arrived new printer hasn't come with a USB2 lead (it wants a USB2 port). Will my USB1 lead work as a USB2? I've added extra 2 & 3 ports to the spec already to help futureproof that at least. If my USB1 lead is useless, I can add a new lead to the order as well methinks. Google results talk about having the right motherboard to support USBs so I'm lost again.

Mother board and USB options in current spec are:

ASUS® F1A55-M LK R2.0: FM1 A-SERIES, SATA 3.0GB/s

2 PORT USB 3.0 INTERNAL PCI-EX CARD + STANDARD USB PORTS

The configurator didn't say these were incompatible incidentally. I don't know if the configurator would tell me if the extra USB3s were simply redundant though if acceptable but pointless.

Printers never come with USB cables so you'll have to pick one up, and your motherboard will be fine with USB. The USB 3.0 PCI-E card will work, no worries there.

Good to hear my motherboard will be OK. Leads, I can cope with - getting the right connectors either end - as long as the ports are there and "welcoming".

No questions in this post, just to say thanks to all who've replied and to let you know that I placed my order, not without a lot of help from your goodselves *bows down*

I thought it'd be a good idea to switch to 5-day fast tracking in case stock parts ran out. Unfortunately it seems a couple have, doh! so back to standard delivery. I'll worry about having to choose alternatives if/when the time comes.
