Hello Wozza365 and oussebon.

was looking to get the quite combo of the noctua cooler and define case - found the fan now.
would it be better to get the dvd disc drive else where?
same question as to SSd? I wanted to get this also together.
also think I need a wireless card as well. not sure what the difference other than prices between £8 -£35?

bit tied between the suggestions I am not really going to be playing the newest games much and it think I would prefer the speed of the i7 but i only ever really upgrade the graphics card if i could get someone else to do the work. if upgrading from pcs I could send process to them to change the graphics card would this only be covered in the 3 year warranty and is this a good time scale to replace the graphic cards before the other parts make upgrading difficult?

Replacing a graphics card is really not that difficult. It's one of the easiest parts to change.

Uninstall Nvidia/AMD GPU driver.
Unplug PC and ground yourself.
Remove 2 screws on GPU and push down on the clip on the motherboard to remove.
Push in new GPU and screw in 2 screws.
Boot PC and install Nvidia/AMD GPU driver.

And you're done!

There's very little chance of something going wrong when upgrading a GPU :)

+1 to the above. Also it's one of the great benefits of PC gaming and a custom PC build. All the parts are pretty standardised so that you can perform your own upgrades.

I'm not 100% convinced it's worth £30 more without going for an out-and-out quiet build. Since you're still going to hear the GPU while gaming, and the PSU won't be silent anyway. If you're tight up against a budget, that would be one way to shave off £30.

It's not better or worse. Just buy whatever is cheaper or more convenient for you.

Getting an SSD would involve compromising on other components, particularly the motherboard and CPU, to afford one in your budget. That's not necessarily a bad choice, but given that SSDs don't affect gaming performance and can be added as an upgrade fairly simply, I'd advocate getting the better CPU.

also think I need a wireless card as well. not sure what the difference other than prices between £8 -£35?
The AC1200 seems like the best general buy to me. It's the cheapest one to offer both 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands, but you probably don't need the faster speeds offered by the much more expensive ones.

You can pick up external drives elsewhere cheaper if you want to shave a tenner off.

I'd suggest the PM961 256gb instead since 128gb won't get you all that far.

Hello,

Thanks. i am back to dithering over the little thing of the noctua fans not really worth the extra £30 as it's not a very quite build. should I change the case and get one where i can have an internal dvd drive?
i am also thinking of adding the silver warranty.

Silver warranty is very popular, and I'd probably get it if buying a PC.

With your budget and uses I'd probably get the CM212x cooler and stick with the Fractal S case. The CPU cooler isn't generally going to be the noisiest thing in the PC. Bear in mind the case itself has 2 fans, the PSU has a fan, and when you're gaming the GPU will generally be making more noise than the CPU cooler.

That said if you get the Noctua I doubt you'd regret it. It's a very good cooler. :)

opps. now thinking I should have looked at this closer. the quite case is the fractle design RS with the noctua fan and allows internal dvd drive. this would make the price more How do i change my order considering it's a Sunday?

Oussebon

Multiverse Poster
The Define RS is a quiet case with very, very similar thermal and acoustic performance to the R5:
http://www.planet3dnow.de/cms/17871...atur-und-lautstaerke-fractal-design-define-s/

The R5 lacks a side window, so no UV lighting. It does have space for an internal dvd drive and the drive is hidden behind a foam-lined door afaik, and a basic fan controller so you can turn down the case fan speed while not gaming to make it quieter.

Also, it's Saturday isn't it? :) But if you have an order in your PCS online account (not the forum one, the main website) I think you can just make any edits you want there. Otherwise the phone lines are open to 5pm on Saturday. And they won't be building it on Sunday afaik anyway.

They're just estimates based on recent averages. If they've had a recent spike in demand, then times will increase. Also if a product you have in your system is currently out of stock it may be delayed by a couple of days.
