My apologises for not clarifying but basically my question was is this normal? Especially with surge protectors? Because i think by accident i turned on my surge protector before i turned on my pc which explains the electrical clicking noise but as i said everything works fine but is that normal and is it nothing to worry about?

I'm still unsure what you mean by an electrical clicking noise. Where was the noise coming from? How did you confirm it was electrical?

Your surge protector should be plugged into the wall and turned on before your PC is turned on. Your PC will plug into the surge protector. If it's not turned on, your PC won't turn on.

Without wanting to sound obvious, your surge protector protects you against electrical surges like lightning strikes or your power coming back on after a power cut, it shouldn't make any noise, it's just protection that most standard socket outlets don't have.

Out of interest, which surge protector did you buy?

It just spooked me basically, it just wasnt normal since i dont usually hear that noise from my pc when its plugged into the wall outlet but it could entirely be normal

I did have a Google as I was curious and apparently some brands of surge protector click when they're protecting against an electrical spike, so it's perfectly normal, but to be honest, and I speak as an electrician here, that's not something I've either heard of or experienced before.

The one you've bought is perfectly fine. So long as it's plugged into the wall, turned on, and your PC is plugged into it fully, you should have no issues.

If it happens again, try and get a recording of the sound or work out where exactly the sound is coming from, but I think you'll be absolutely fine personally.

I fully understand, I struggle with anxiety too. If you have any more questions, please ask.
one more thing my surge protector is on and i'm currently on my pc writing this but the red light that indicates it being on is off the one thing that weirds me out is that my pc is on and everything else is working but my surge protector light indicator is off and i'm wondering if i'm still good? (i've compared the surge protector with ones in the reviews and it seems as though it's normal for it to be on)

It's not immediately obvious from the specs or reviews whether all models have an LED light behind that on/off button. It's not mentioned in the product description and the reviews seem to show it in some, but not in others.

Either way, it's 'just' an LED light, BUT if it's causing you concern, you could send it back for a replacement or a different one. Whichever causes you least concern.
