I had a job interview, but I am not sure if I want the job.

so I got a call about ten minutes ago and they offered me the job - I have an induction tomorrow, so I will give it a try and see how it goes.

Congratulations! All of this thread aside, obviously something you conveyed in your interview was what the management were looking for, regardless of who you were up against and what yours, theirs, or anyone elses opinions were. I think taking the job whether you're sure of it or not when you're currently out of work but looking for something is a good idea. Obviously with your studies taking a large amount of your time you may find in the first month or so that it's not for you, but giving it a shot is certainly for the best I think.

Best of luck.

What you wear to an interview does tend to help sway their opinion of you, it shouldn't really (except in extremes) but it always does, that's simply human nature. When i go for an interview i dress appropriately for the job i'm interviewing for, my last job in facility management i wore a suit to the interview because that's the kind of job it is, the recent interview for a bit of weekend work in a convenience store i wore a plain shirt and pullover over smart casual trousers, if i was going for say an engineering job i would wear a smart polo shirt and smart jeans or casual trousers. I don't think there is a single situation i would even contemplate wearing a track suit to an interview, except maybe some sort of sports ot physio job.

I agree with this, except I would never wear jeans to an interview and I don't care how 'sporty' the job, anyone turning up in a tracksuit does not want the job.

On the other hand, if I were an employer I might give the 'trackie' the job, just to scupper his/her obvious plan to fail! :)
