I am looking for a similar build as this has parts missing and want to make sure the parts all match and work together

I’ve read them, and I have listed my budget and use for the PC, also with the new CPU, GPU, they are cheap but not necessarily better than the 4090 as it relies on the generational frame rate
Lols, you can't have seen the thread then, or you're not understanding the 5090, there have been zero 3rd party reviews yet, but the 5090 is unquestionably going to wipe the floor with the 4090 (at the same price point) from a rasterization standpoint, you can see that purely from the hardware specs.

You'd have to be insane to buy a system now. Just wait for the 5090

You've waited for 2 years, what's a couple of weeks going to matter for SIGNIFICANTLY more performance at the same price?

I genuinely don't understand the immediate urgency.

Any rational adviser would tell you to hang on.

I’m only asking as I don’t know if it’s worth me waiting until the end of Jan or whenever they are released to get my pc
If you're not desperate for it, i.e you need it to earn a living, then there's absolutely no reason to not wait until the new tech is released, especially if you're planning on spending upwards of £3k. It'd be a huge waste of your money if you bought now, in my opinion.

I’ve seen people debate this and I can see both point of views, however I can wait, what is the released age for the new specs?

It's all in the thread, you really should look at it.

Just look at the hardware specs of the 5090 vs the 4090, you'll instantly see how much more of a card it is at the same cost

I’m looking at the thread it just doesn’t make sense to me… surely I can get a PC now and then upgrade it in the future to new specs? I’m sure there are pc builds and parts that a far more advanced and appropriate for what I need my PC to do

The problem of buying a GPU now, is you’ll be paying the current, premium price for what will be a slower, last-gen (2 year older) GPU…when a couple of weeks will get you the faster, new-gen GPU for the same price…OR the last-gen, slower one for a lower price.

You could buy a PC right now, without a powerful GPU, and put one in once availability has picked up…but you’d have to ensure the other components are matched to the GPU…to ensure that it will physically fit in the case you choose and has an appropriate PSU for the GPU (and with enough headroom for at least one GPU upgrade when you need it).

I think what they are trying to say mate is that you will get a better price with all the next gen hardware coming out which in turn will reduce earlier gen products. Makes sense to wait as I'm in the same boat.

Okay I get that thanks, is this the same as the CPU then will I need to wait for the release of this to match the other components on the PC ie the new GPU, also I have been looking through the thread and I can’t see a release date for both the new CPU AND GPU?

What thread are you looking at? It's all outlined in the summary

It's the one linked in Post 14

I know AMD have just announced new CPUs, not had a chance to look at them yet in great detail, it's all on YouTube though mate if you wanna check it out.

I'm definitely gonna wait a few months before buying though as you will end up seeing yourself off no doubt.

If you were going for a 7800X3D/4090 build 12 months ago, then the next gen version would be a 9800X3D/5090 build.

The 9800X3D is the best gaming CPU currently…and the new CPU releases are higher core versions of that…which will probably have more relevance in a rendering/development build than in gaming…but until we see real-world game benchmarks we won’t know for sure.

So the new CPU that is going to get released may not affect gaming at all and the current CPU (9800) that’s out will be just as good in terms of gaming?

Basically all I’m wiaitng for then is the new GPU to be released and then I can build around that?

Yes, if it's purely for gaming then there's unlikely to be a case for anything other than the 9800X3D.

This is the thing, I don’t currently have a PC and was hoping for a build with the RTX 5090 included as I’ve waited for this to release, could a PC now be built with the new RTX 5090 included?

Only if you order one? Not sure I’m following?

If it were me, I’d put the order through now with no GPU, then amend the order on the dot of 2pm to add a 5090, that’s your best bet

I would also try to grab a founders edition at the same time from nvidia

I had a PC from last year built for me to order but of course that has old specs, I am just curious to see if a newer version which includes the new 5090 could be built for me to buy as I don’t want to order the parts and build it myself
