Hi,

Hi,

Over the last couple of days, I have heard a humming sound that seems to be coming from my CPU cooler: CoolerMaster 240 Lite.

This is more noticeable when playing games as it gets louder.

Is this a cause for concern?

Should I contact PCS?

The CoolerMaster is more at the budget end of CPU coolers so it may have been working hard. Can you provide a bit more context? What games have you been playing? Have you got a recording of the sound you can pop on OneDrive so the troubleshooting legends can have a listen? Have you been monitoring your system? CPU and GPU temps would be handy info to have available 👍

I haven't been playing the latest games, but the graphic settings are set to "high" in-game, except for What Remains of Edith Finch. which auto detected the graphics options and set them to 'Ultra'. The games are Football manager 2021, What Remains of Edith Finch, Gray Matter.

I haven't been monitoring the CPU/GPU temps, but I will download HWMonitor. Does the classic version of HWMonitor also record the data, too? Or is it available only in the Pro version?

I will provide a post update with an audio recording of the humming sound, along with the CPU/GPU temps.

Thank you for the advice.

Hi,

I have uploaded a very short video showing my PC and the humming sound can be heard.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L_JvMc4VFn1C_ulKiJESAAcY2XUvz8Bv/

I installed HWMonitor and have saved 2 data logs: one is while the PC is idle and the other is when I am in a game, while the humming sound is occurring. These are attached.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

Thank you.
