How's this spec for a 4k gaming PC?

Hi, I haven't built a PC for over 20 years and in that time been mostly playing most my games on console. However, now I'd like to really experience a lot more performance and a larger variety of games. I've put together a build that I am going to use with a AW 32" OLED 4K240hz monitor. I'm looking to get a good balance of 4K and FPS in most games, with 1440 and higher frames for some online FPS. I've done research and it seems like this will last me for a good few years and the components used would allow me to upgrade a bit easier in a few years time if need be.

This PC will just be used for gaming and the budget is around 2.4k. This build is £2,306.

What do you think? Could anything be improved or optimised?

The only thing I am a little unsure of (apologies, it's a bit of a beginner question) but the case supports 3 front fans but the configurator won't let me add any more due to the radiator so I am a little confused. Could anyone explain?

Thanks

To answer the question, that case comes with 3 front fans which is why it won't let you add any more....3 front fans, 1 rear fan and the cooler fans (2) equals the maximum amount of fans that case can support (6). However, for a build at the level you are planning, you want a much better and well known case. The case is arguably the most important part of any build as it provides the airflow which the components, especially the graphics card, needs. The lowest I'd want to go is the Corsair 4000D RGB Airflow.

For the rest, if you could please go back into the "post to forum" page where you got the specs list, copy the entire thing (especially the "Unique configurable URL") and paste as it lets us go in and adjust things rather than starting a spec from scratch.

There are some areas that could be optimised

Thanks for the reply. Ah, for some reason I assumed if I select additional fans, it will replace the fans it comes with. I assume the front fans that are included are non-RGB from looking at the specs, so I wanted to replace them during the build, rather than after once I've received it. (Update: Spoken to PCS and they can replace them post order so that's good)

PCS are pretty good at accommodating requests so no surprise they said they could..of course, changing to the Corsair case negates that anyway as there's no need to change the fans.

I've adjusted the spec to make it a bit more well-rounded, albeit going 5% over budget:

Drives: Switched to 2 drives (Operating System drive and games drive) as having Windows on it's own drive not only improves the speed Windows works but it makes things so much easier if you need to reinstall Windows as you don't need to reinstall all your games. Also veered from Samsung as they have had reliability issues over recent times.
PSU: Possibly overkill but the Shift series are much better than their predecessors..unfortunately, for a build this level, the 1200w is the only one. Having said that, 4k tier gaming is becoming ever more power hungry so it's prudent.
Cooler: PCS products have had some reliability issues. Personally, given how important the cooler is to the CPU and it's performance, I would always go with a known brand (Corsair) rather than an unknown brand (It's PCS branded but it's a generic product who's origins we don't know).
Anti-virus: Removed Norton as it can be a resource hog and cause system issues. Windows has Defender built-in which is arguably better (many of us have used Defender solely for years without issue....I've used it for around 12 years and the only time I ever had an issue was because I over-rode Defender, which had given me a warning, and a download broke my system
Warranty: Added Silver for £5 for an extra 11 months over courier costs if the PC did need to go back. If a computer is going to develop a fault, it is most likely to occur in the first 6-12 months.

One final thought: The graphics card. If you need to get closer to the budget and Ray-Tracing is not an absolute priority for you, then you could switch from the 4080S to the AMD 7900 XTX. The AMD card still has good Ray-Tracing..it's just not as advance as NVIDIAs (they are a generation behind). Others on here will have more knowledge of the 2 cards...from what I understand, the 4080 Super has a little better performance. Might be worth having a read of this to decide if the extra £70 is worth it:

4080 Super vs 7900 XTX

Hope it's okay to jump onto this thread, I'm a console gamer but always wanted to make the switch over but tbh I don't understand alot when it comes to gaming pc.

I currently game on a ps5 with a 32inch samsung g5 monitor. I like the look of the build you've made for Jul but have a few questions.

Would I need a new monitor, if so what would you suggest that doesn't completely break the bank but still makes the most out of the pcs performance (£500 rough budget)

With the drives is the 2tb one for the windows as the 512gb has better specs (I think lol) or do you need 2tb for the windows and the 512gb was to stay as close to the original quote as possible.

Thanks in advance and apologies for my lack of understanding tech lol

As you have a few questions etc, my advice would be to start a new thread otherwise it may get confusing if you then have further questions or if the OP comes back and posts etc.

P.S. You never have to apologise for not understanding tech..it can be very confusing at times. I've been around computers since the mid 80s, have owned them since the mid 90s, was the designated computer person at my first job yet, even now, I sometimes get confused, especially if I haven't kept up to date with things. Ultimately, that is why we volunteer our time here...to help people with any shortfall in knowledge
