I'd like to keep it about £3K and the audio interface is a Protools digi002 (via firewire) - this is very long in the tooth and should be upgraded in due course. Thanks

AMD CPUs will be much better for Adobe software than Intel. Check out the hardware recommendations and benchmarks at Puget Systems for the specific applications. Looking at LR, PS and Premiere the 5900x seems to be the sweet spot, but a 5800x is no slouch. There is no real benefit going for a 3950x over a 5900x. A 3080 GPU gives little if any benefit for LR and PS. There is about 10% benefit over a 3060ti for Premiere and less over a 3070. It depends whether that benefit is worth the extra cost for you.

Thanks for the feedback. I was being swayed on availability of components. Hence the 3070 instead of a 3080. I had also assumed the 5900x / 3950x were holding back build times as well.
