How to increase fan speed under load

The case fans (ie the roof fans currently in your build) always run at full tilt for a second at start-up and power off...that's normal. While operating they are definitely speed variable fans as I change mine depending on what I'm doing so they should be varying unless they are set to a specific speed ie full.

Interesting, how do you change that? The BIOS didn't seem to work, and I tried a custom fan management tool that couldn't find them.

Just to note, PCS confirmed there was an issue with the build:

builder error - CPU fans not plugged into the correct headers. easily rectified.

IMHO a pretty big error that could have had pretty negative results (particularly when setting off several handbrake jobs and walking away...).

Still, the new computer is up and running, currently restoring from my backup, so ending well.
