How to get win 7 on the infinity A10 pro elite

My friend has a limited budget and is interested in buying the infinity A10 pro elite for £449 (as shown in the list: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/reviews/)
However unless they click order now, by clicking on it the price increases by around £50. By default it comes with windows 8.1, so does this mean I have to pay extra in order to get it with windows 7 64 bit?

I'm not sure why it immediately charges you more by just clicking configure. But the 449 price is only guaranteed for the exact specification in the review. So the short answer would be yes, if you change anything it won't necessarily be 449 anymore. At least thats how I understand the review spec's to work.

If your friend wants Windows 7 only because he/she doesn't like the modern UI in Windows 8.1 there is a very cheap solution. Install Start8 from http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/. It only costs $4.99 (US dollars) so it's nearly free and it restores the familiar Windows 7 start menu to Windows 8/8.1.

I've been using Start8 since it was first developed and it works perfectly. I never leave the desktop and my user experience is exactly that of Windows 7. Windows 8.1 is a more advanced OS than Windows 7 with a number of enhancements and improvements so it is worth getting. Don't listen to the sheep who tell you that Windows 8.1 rubbish. It most certainly is not!

So for an extra $4.99 your friend can get the offer at £449 and have the Windows 7 experience on Windows 8.1.

Both of u have been very helpful, thanks! While I would have just got it with 8.1, my friend was insistant that they get it with windows 7. However this start8 software looks like a very good solution, and reviewers seem to recommend it.

Also I believe that in the next Windows 8.1 update the start menu can be shown on startup on non touchscreen devices
