Hi all just wondering what ya all do without the use of PC's, i read a lot of fiction, favourite author's such as Brooks (Shannara series), Salvatore (dark elf series), and i just found a bunch of books going cheap by Clive Cussler, i totally love his characters from the NUMA team. I'm getting into post apocalyptic type stories involving survival now, theres some good ones on kindle for free....until you pay for the next instalment..lol
i also love the water/boats (living practically on it). Not had my own boat for along time but worked the pleasure boats as a deckhand for about 3 years as well as some safety boat work which involved running around in a small dory having fun and getting paid for it. So yeh books n boats are my loves ;)

I love fishing, fly fishing mainly, mostly with a few mates but that usually just ends up a drinking session, not that I complain.Sometimes I go off on my own for a day and sometimes fish overnight.Mind you I think my wife and friends think there's something wrong with me,
but "suum cuique".:)

You can do stuff without PC's? :eek:nline2long:

I enjoy brewing beer in my spare time and if I can get the chance a spot of light skydiving :) (I have not managed to save the funds to learn to do it on my own just yet unfortunately!)
Brewing is especially fun :) Currently brewing some IPA's and a few porters.

I never tried fly fishing just shore and boat. I havnt gone fishing for along time but i prefere either boat or spinning, I was a lazy boy and used to drag my 28 ounce coster lure on tickover with my old JAP 4 hp outboard motor.
erm 28 grams = 1 ounce

Haha, its only scary until you're out in my opinion. Also with regards to the brewing, I've found since I'm now making a mash etc. instead of using a kit my brew's are lasting considerably longer. Getting descent strength too circa 5-7% usually :).

99% of what I do involves electronics in some way, but I do some tabletop gaming and a few days ago I signed up for the ultimate frisbee club and fencing club at my uni.

I'm quite fond of scuba diving at the moment, and also play tennis and swim. Looks like we're a bunch of water-lovers, funny when you think that water is a PC's worst nightmare. :)

Is that unless the water is contained in funky looking tubes and often brightly coloured? Could be swapping Water Cooling in a PC to 'air cooling' a person whilst scuba diving (I know not quite the same but still....)

Yeah when I pictured PC + water in my head I had that in mind
toughbook1.jpg.

But you're right we just invert the variables when we go scuba diving

WC PC:
- environment = air
- "breathing" = water
- composition = electronic

Scuba Diver
- enviro = water
- breathing = air
- composition = biological

It's like ying and yang they balance each other out, this is therefore a proof that we are made to have WC PCs (and be scuba divers). You can't argue with this logic :p

Jogging and hiking for me. I had to do the Basic Expedition Leader award (work related) and since then enjoy going into the countryside as often as I can.

I like board gaming with friends (no, not things like monopoly, more like the games you find on boardgamegeek.com probably in the strategy section), or going out biking with friends along country roads (dependent on weather so not a lot of that has happened this year)

I tend to use the phrase 'tabletop games' for that. Technically Monopoly would be included in that but that's pretty much always referred to as a board game.

Ever played Dominion?

Yep, got it on my bookshelves, not one of my favourite games though, though that may be due to the fact that one friend went mad over it and we played it far too much over a short period of time.
Pandemic and Ticket To Ride Marklin are my current favourites.

I tend to use the word 'tabletop' games for such things as Warhammer and Warhammer 40k (cos lets face it they do take up the entire table top), but then we're all different :)

Hah, the exact same thing happened to me. I and my two half-brothers played (only) the base set to death over summer 2011. Now I can just about manage to play it a few hours a month without getting bored. I really need to pick up an expansion or two.
