High end PC for iRacing in VR

Hi

I am looking for a PC that will give me max settings when in VR in racing. However I don't want to go overboard! This spec seems to be top end, and should do the job. Am interested in thoughts on compatibility or optimisation.

Read the guidance and may add another storage drive.

My budget is in the region of £3K, but can flex. The main concern is around optimisation and wasting money given my use case.

What VR headset (resolution) are we talking about? Is there also a monitor you'll be playing on, if so what's the make & model?

Personally, I'd not be paying a premium to buy a 2 year old, outgoing model of any top-end GPU, considering the next gen is being released in Q1 2025.

I use a Meta Quest 3 and would like to run at more than the default 72Hz. Resolution is 2064x2208 pixels per eye. I only have an old TV to display applications and the start up before using the Quest. So I want to optimise for the Quest, and possibly another headset in the coming years.

Max budget is probably £3,300.

The build you've linked to is almost £3700, and has some sub-optimal components (RAM, PSU, cooler).

Here's the tweaks I'd make to the rest of the build, but I'm not a VR expert, so I'll leave the GPU recommendation to others, but as the total resolution is over half-4k per eye, I assume it will have to be the 4080 Super or 4090. But there's very little chance of getting a RTX4090 into the build along with fixing the other components.

BTW, if you want the white aesthetic, then there are white components available on the 'Aura' (white) configurator.
