Help with new build for a CG artist please!

Hello, looking for some advice on this build please. I haven't bought a new desktop in about 6 years so definitely due an upgrade. Glad for the forum as I'm quite nervous of making an expensive mistake or ordering parts I don't really need.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Bumping this as I really need to buy something asap for work. My old computer packed in 2 weeks ago and I'm on a tiny laptop which is next to useless. Any advice?

This is where I'd be aiming mate, you're suggested build above is just not good at all. the 10900X is very very old now and wasn't even that good when it released so it's a hard no.

This would be a really strong current gen build, only thing that's putting me off recommending it is that you're literally like €2-300 off a build with a 7950X3D which would be amazing for your uses

Could you offer some advice as I'm not sure how to proceed and not sure I want to risk adjusting this myself in the future. I do want to highest performance I can get from it though as it'll be used for 3d modelling/rendering:

There is a known issue with the system involving compatibility with DDR5. However, we have conducted a successful test with downclocking the RAM from 5600MHz to 5000MHz. As a solution, you customer can receive the system with the existing RAM and has it running at 5000MHz until a future BIOS update resolves the issue, just keep in mind you will have to proceed with this BIOS update in the future, you can assist you doing it if needed,

Alternatively you can choose a lower speed RAM (4800mhz) and we would have to run more test on it and this could delay a bit more the process, please let me know how you would like to proceed

Any help would be much appreciated!

I personally wouldn't accept either of those solutions.

For rendering you really want 6400MHz RAM. 6000MHz absolute minimum..

The issue they're taking about is a temporary BIOS problem on Asus boards above 5600MHz yhat can cause instability with the RAM clocks.

The temp solution is just to downclock it.

If I were you, I'd buy it with the minimum 8gb RAM lowest spec and source your own 2 x 32gb kit or 4 x 16Gb at 6400MHz.

Yes, that's why you downclock it.

It's only temporary until Asus roll out a BIOS fix

It's not the RAM that's the issue, it's the BIOS applying too high voltages when overvlocking RAM above 5600mhz

ok so I get the 8gb RAM with this build instead, source my own at 6400MHz RAM and downclock it until the BIOS gets an update. Hope it's alright to come back here if I need some help with that. It's not something I've ever tried doing before.

Easy done mate it's literally a drop down box in the BIOS you simply select a stable speed at the minute this looks like 5600Mhz for the majority of boards and sometimes 5200Mhz but this is temporary once the issue is fixed you can then go in again and set it to the capable speed of the RAM and then get the full use of the components
