Ok with a budget like that you should be aiming for a 1440P system, so this is where I'd suggest you go, then get something like a G5 for the monitor, plenty of options in black friday sales

Both builds are significant upgrades to the original spec, but I would like to ask the question… which VR headset is going to be used with the system and how often?

I’ll defer to @Scott on this one as I don’t use VR, but the amount of RAM you select may also impact your virtual reality experience. More memory than 16GB could potentially be beneficial.

Hi, thank you so much fo the advice and tips.

Just a few questions about it as i will be mostly using it for vr and something ive always been thrown at me is needing the higher ram is this not the case?
The graphics card will it allow higher graphics in games without problem?
And would this be fine to use to stream if i eventually decided to start streaming abit in the future?

Honestly I'm unsure. I'm sure @Scott will be happy to fill us in when he sees this but if you're happy to go a bit over the budget, it might be worth going for 32GB (2x16 @3200) just to be safe if it's something you've heard a lot

The 3070TI is a brilliant card and will happily provide a good experience with the monitor I've suggested. @AgentCooper uses the same one with a 3070 and only has good things to say. We don't tend to recommend ultra as you throw away frames for little graphical benefit, but keep to high and you should be good to go!

Yup! The NVENC encoder on the 3070TI will handle this happily and the upgrade to 32GB would help this too

I would probably opt for 32GB of 3600Mhz RAM nowadays. It'll easily be the norm over the coming years so I would tend to get it now with 2x 16GB rather than using up 2 of the slots with 2x8GB.

I would probably sacrifice a little GPU power and opt for the 3060Ti to save the money. The Oculus Quest 2 isn't going to make heavy use past that sort of level and it's still a first class 1440p card. Can always upgrade down the line if you wanted to, along with potentially a more powerful VR headset.

The Quest 2 wirelessly paired with the PC is fantastic though. Works really well with FS2020 as well, which I was very chuffed about.

The ideal selection would be the 5900X paired with an X570 Gaming motherboard, 32GB of RAM & a 3070Ti. Unfortunately can't have it all though, prices are high right now.
