That reminds me of two other words I get mixed up a lot - Heimlich and Valsalva. I one had a friend choking on his sandwich and I told him to hold his nose and blow. πŸ€”

Sorry - had to edit this post - I actually wrote Heinrich instead of Heimlich. The Heinrich Manouvre is not a pleasant thing at all..... :cry:

Right - back to the topic - where are we with DDR5 RAM? On launch the high latency of DDR5 compared to DDR4 meant that the advertised higher speeds were moot in many cases - so DDR5 was really just picking up where DDR4 left of, rather than it being an amazing new thing.

Where does it live now?

Not a hardware expert by any means - I very much live in the gaming section of the forum here - but it seems as though DDR5 is now the recommendation for PC builds that can afford it and the sweet spot seems to be around 6000MHz. I guess that means the initial latency issues have been, or are being, resolved.
