HDMI not working

Hi, I'm trying to add a second (independent) monitor to my son's desktop but it is not being recognised ie 'no signal' message

It's HDMI to HDMI on an Acer K222HQL

Thanks in advance

Is that one of the pair of ex-display ones from ebay?

If so, I think your warranty & support would be via the ebay seller.

But where are you trying to plug the 2nd monitor in to? The same place on the back as the 1st cable (the GPU), or are you trying to plug it in at the top (the motherboard)? If the latter then you’ll have no luck, as that CPU does not have an iGPU to provide video.

Thanks so much for your replies.

I bought the machine from Curry's but it was easier to use the Ebay spec.
It's the top HDMI I'm trying to plug in to so that will be the issue

Kind regards
Andy

You should call PCS and get it registered for the full warranty and forum support (via an online account you’ll be given), as the first thing the helpers on here will ask for is YOUR spec from YOUR account.

If your GPU does not have a second HDMI port on it, and the monitor doesn’t have anything but HDMI, then you’ll have to use an adapter to convert from one of the other GPU ports (will probably be DP and DVI…depending on the GPU manufacturer).

DP to HDMI cable/adapters are available relatively cheaply…for example…

The Vortex G30 appears to have a GTX 1650 and, far as I can tell, all the models of that GPU have 1x HDMI so it will need the HDMI to DP cable as Tony suggested above
