770 seems like decent value, its more powerful than the 680 and cheaper too! good job nvidia I was expecting a much higher price

Well personally I think the 700 series is a load of non-sense - well done Nvidia on bringing out a pile of rubbish.

Looking from benchmarks and stress tests, the stock GTX 780 is about 10% more powerful than the GTX 680, a feeble amount in my opinion, especially down to its crazy pricing.

The Radeon 7970, is 30% more powerful than the Radeon 6970, which in my opinion is a very decent upgrade, and I'm looking forward to the 8000 series from AMD.

That's just my 10 pence on Nvidia's new release, just my opinion :p heh heh

(You can probably tell I don't like Nvidia much)

Has there been a driver since the release of the 780, the first new driver is usually a big improvement on the new cards

Don't you think it is also due to the lack of new releases from AMD? Lack of competition is probably the reason why nvidia is not releasing a new architecture.

Well, you're probably right there. However I don't think that means Nvidia need to get lazy with their new content. I was expecting a "blow my mind" improvement, however these are minor. The 770 has been confirmed to use the same card as the 680, and doesn't suppress its performance by much.

I don't know, I'm just disappointed :(. That's all.

I think that will be the case with the next generation. I read a few articles indicating that the titan was supposed to be the real gtx 680 but due to the performance of the current AMD range they decided to delay its release, I guess from a business perspective it makes sense to increase the product cycle. Regarding AMD vs Nvidia I guess it depends on what the intended use is, I believe it is easier to set up 3D as well as multi monitors with an nvidia set up and, while I have no experience with a crossfire set up, it seems to be easier to sli. I think for single gpu AMD will give you best performance per £, that's just my opinion.

Why waste money on making better products when you basically own the market, Apple do it, Intel does it and now nvidia

I am actually very impressed with the 770 mainly the Palit OC version, its close to the 780 and easily overclockable, this is probably the one im going to get, seems a fair bit more powerful than the 7970 GHz edition and I think a reasonable extra cost in proportion to the extra power.

I will be waiting for the AMD released I think before buying, although it is tempting to go for it now

I think if you have a 500 series card, then it is certainly worth upgrading to a 770, simply because of the less power/heat/noise output and better performance. But I dont think its worth going from a 600 series card to a 770 or 780.

Well, I know I'm going to get me a GTX770 - but then I've still got a GTX460 so it should be a humungous improvement for me :)

I just wish we had the 8970m test readings out by now, so I could decide and buy a laptop already.
