still says 2011.0 version.

it's not windows 7 messing about with the auto updating of drivers or changing what it thinks is right?

Im not 100% that we are getting rid of the first lot of drivers, im not that up on my ATI stuff as i own Nvidia.

I would try and remove all the ATI software including CCC in safe mode.

yeh with vsync on in the control centre and also in game it just makes it 5 times worse it makes the screen shake whenever i move up and down

also it now does it when i turn around in game so it's made it worse in every way.

Thats really odd, i mean i get page tearing in most games without vsync but its never made it worse by putting it on. Short of an OS reinstall i reckon if no one else on here has any ideas it would be best to give the call centre a shout.

I'm clueles when it comes to games and not that good with ATI GPU's but I just had a nose around a few forums and there's mention of similar problems and a couple of replies saying that earlier mods or patches done to some games have to be removed with the drivers issued since December 2010. It's difficult to find "the" answer with so many posts giving "try this, try that" replies. The only consistent response is the suggestion to check the games' publishers website for the most up to date patches - basically, they're saying that it's not a problem with the GPU itself.

I would say reinstall windows and try an earlier version of the driver but then theres no way to get back office starter, so unless anyone can think of something else it might be calling on Monday is the best bet.

It's happening with more than 1 game and it the games are from different companies. Others are not having the problem i am that i talk to in game.

This sounds like an odd one....

Unweakened, what kind of monitor do you run the card through? Is it 120hz or 60hz?

Just a few things to try:

1. Disconnect/reconnect monitor connection, and recheck its power supply too... I had an old rig that provided similar problems from a faulty/incorrectly installed monitor connection.
2. Get ATI Tray tools and enable triple buffering.
3. Make sure Forced Vsync is on in CCC; but not in game.

Im not sure any of these will cure your issue if its as bad as it sounds; but worth a try.

Typical thread i have seen on this issue:

Not sure if you have something different going on, sounds like more than screen tearing?

Fair enough, its selected on your order and an opt in choice so didnt want you to be stuck without it if you need it.

The monitor is the Asus PG221
I switched round the connections yesterday because my second screen is VGA and the asus is DVI should i put the asus back into the VGA one? and see if it works? but i wont be able to dual screen when i want to watch movies.

I'll try the forced vsync and get back to you guys in a few secs.
