Graphics Card size issue

Hi guys, I put together a PC on this website around 2 years ago, I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card next year and I was having a little look at some options and what could fit into my current PC without any other changes in the setup.

The problem I have is that I'm being told my current case and CPU cooler is restricting my GPU size to 25cm in length, although my current Gigabyte 2070s is 28.6cm, I was wondering if I could fit GPU's which was 33cm+, such as 3080 or 6800XT or perhaps new models next year, thanks.

Surely if you have this system you can just take off the side panel and use a measuring tape to determine max length given current config….

Also, what are you upgradi g the GPU for? What performance is lacking and for what use?

What monitor is this pairing with, what resolution and refresh rate?

Ive had a look at 34cm seems to be what i could fit with around 3cm gap to the front fans, I'm just not sure if that gap is adequate

Yeah I measured it and it looks I could fit on slightly longer with a 3cm gap to the front fans, I don't know if thats too close

For better performance gaming at higher graphics settings, the 2070s is pretty good, but I built this PC in the mind I'd be upgrading the GPU in the future. Now this is next year ill probably be upgrading so I was just having a nosy, ill be waiting too see the new models that are released before any upgrades. And currently 1080p 144hz, but ill be upgrading to 1440p and probably 144hz

The 2070 Super is very overpowered for 1080p 144Hz.

When buying a replacement I'd get some advice on something better paired, as you've never used that GPU to it's potential, could have saved a lot of money and had exactly the same performance.

Yeah I was told this at the time of buying, but I had a budget of 1600 and had to settle for 1080p with the idea I'd upgrade it later on. Better pairing in what sense? I've currently been playing alot of Tarkov recently and I feel the performance is a bit low, 50-70fps that including a Razer game booster. Also would like to be prepared for more ambitions games being realised in the future with higher component demands.

I’ve seen builds online with smaller gaps, some less than 1cm. You just need to make sure air can flow to GPU fans

GPU's need to pair with the monitor. The 2070 Super is vastly overpowered for that monitor, the monitor will bottleneck it so limit what it can output.

You should be getting at least 100fps average at 1080p on Tarkov, there's something wrong with your setup, not the card itself. I take it you've optimised graphics settings? Remember it's still beta so performance is nowhere near optimised.
