GPU stock shortage sadness

So obviously Nvidia graphics cards are in high demand, with little stock coming in from suppliers - out of PC Specialists control of course.

When I ordered my 3060Ti three weeks ago it advised me it was out of stock and I’d be added to the wait list queue etc, which ofc I was fine with.

Yesterday I did a quick dummy build for fun and noticed that when I selected the Ti it gave the same message but this time said the ETA for next stock delivery would be 10th June! Yikes.

I decided to try the 3070 in the dummy build and it didn’t give an ETA for that, so can I assume that the 3070 are still having weekly deliveries?

I did ring and ask if the ETA applied to all previous orders too or just new orders going forward, his answer wasn’t too clear but it sounded like basically no deliveries of the 3060Ti will be coming in until mid June! :(
I was hoping that they were still having weekly deliveries to fulfil current orders but it appears not. Sad times :(

I asked about changing my spec to the 3070 but he advised that if I changed now it would put me back at the end of the queue for the wait time.

So basically should I just stick to my guns and wait until June and hope they receive enough stock in that delivery to reach my order on the list? Or just change to 3070 and reset the wait clock as 3070 appears to be having weekly deliveries at least?

Tbh it’s a lose lose situation isn’t it and all I can do is just wait. I just wanted to share my disappointment and inside sadness with someone in a forum post hoping it would make me feel better haha 😂

much love fellow gaming fairies

Another option is to try to source a grfx card yourself and then change the order to remove it and install your own when it’s received

Been trying and have stock alerts setup but they just sell so quickly I can’t checkout fast enough haha Currys seem to get cards in every week but they just go within seconds

For 1080p gaming the 1660 Super would have you covered nicely and it's in stock. It'll save you a bundle too.
Ohhh thanks for that tip :) I’ll see how much longer I can last, if my old PC explodes soon then I may just do that!

Well. Turns out taking the risk and changing it to the 3070 pushed my order into the build phase last week and is being delivered tomorrow :) so excited!!!!

Glad to hear your build is coming tomorrow!

Now that you've gone for the 3070 I would STRONGLY recommend a new monitor in the next few months. You've forked out a bit extra for the GPU, there's no point sticking with the 1080p 144hz display now, because you could have saved £300 and got identical performance.

I would be looking at something like the £300 G5 as a minimum.
