GPU PCIE probs

Dear Forumers,

I have a few Nvidia GPUs (2 RTX 2080 Tis and an RTX 3090)
Been fiddling around with configs to try to test why I'm having a problem.

All cards work in slot 3

none seem to work in 1 or 2????? (NB: 1 is a problem anyway the cards are too close to fan on CPU)

the only way I got 2 to work at all is one in 3 and one in 5 (this is a problem as they are so close and get REALLY hot)

I can't physically put any into 6 or 7 because of cables beneath coming out of mobo (the cards are chunky as you probably know!)

So really I want one in 2 and one in 5 but this config doesn't work :(((((

probs gunna buy another 3090 to install but dont wanna buy if impossible to get 2 cards at all to work

really quite confused and pretty sure it not dead PCIEs (obvs not 100% sure)

been looking at online forums. tried quite alot and fiddled around in BIOS to no avail (BIOS currently back to default)

another probable help in diagnosis is that the WIFI card had the same issues (i totally removed it in the end, dont really need it)

PLS help!!!!!!! going crazy!!!!!!!!

PS: I dont need SLI

MOBO is ASUS® WS C621E SAGE (DDR4 RDIMM, 6Gb/s, CrossFireX/SLI)

hope u can help

Nick

Is this a PCS build? can you copy and paste your full specs from your order page so we know what we are dealing with.

Unfortunately if it is a self build or elsewhere than PCS we won't be able to advise i'm afraid. Somewhere like Tom's hardware will be your best bet :)

Thanks Nick :)

Am i right in reading that the Wi-fi card doesn't work in those PCIE slots as well as the GPU's?

To me that could mean an issue with the motherboard with the first 2 PCIE slots so it might be worth contacting PCS directly about if still in warranty. However there is every chance that someone else with better tech knowledge than me might know a fix :)
