Thing is this game isnt even that old and should work with Vista no problem, it has to be the drivers for that onboard GPU.

going back to what you said about driver pro of course i didnt pay for it lol i just didnt realise it could f your system up

thing is though when i did the drivers update via that rollercoaster tycoon actually played better.

so do you only get drivers from the original manufacturers site only?

It’s a shame, i often install and play games from 1997 with a few tweaks, never mind 2008!

If you do go for a new PC with a dedicated GPU im sure it would work.

There is one small consolation though, i don’t think your missing much

in the steam thread i basically asked what it was about and lo behold i try to dl to register the prog and then that comes up with an error. ggggrrrr.

I think you doth protest too much.

Its a bit like my gf's CD collection, i get ripped hard by my mates for it. Its not my music, i dont listen to it.

problem being, i will not have the funds i need to get new pc until early 2011 so i need to put up till then.

is steam a good site then? how does it work kinda like 360 marketplace and overcharges people for games?

No no no no, Steam is awesome.

Its a digital distribution store for PC Games, there are overpriced games (by developers, see COD / MOH etc) but every now and again Steam runs sales that offer games for a few £. Its an easy way to get rid of game cd's etc and have them all in one place and always uptodate.

Its availiable for Mac, so it should be comfortable on a low spec machine. Do you see what i did there? Basically it should install on anything.

And no, never. Its not "knackered" so much as really really weak. The GPU just inst upto much really, and trust me. If i was there, i would win

There is a site that you can use for testing this (though I can't get to it at work - firewall blocking anything gaming related), I think it's called something like 'Can you run it'.
I know it scans your system and tells you why you won't be able to run the game if you can't.

Important Note: it asks you to install some stuff, run at your own risk, I think it's safe, but I haven't actually tried using it in a few years, also I don't know what games it does/doesn't cover.

I just recently bought the game, can't get it running, so i di hope that there is someone who can help.
I did all off the above mentioned tricks.
my log is telling me:
