To give a little perspective, although I believe Laptop lines are different to the PC lines. I ordered an Ultranote II and it took 9working days and despatched today. So average timings seem to be accurate at the moment.

Just ordered mine last night. Am having to fit the wireless card myself to keep the price though, and am hoping this is really easy as the only tools I possess are a clawhammer and a swiss army knife.

You could consider a pair of homeplugs. It should give you a more reliable connection

Thanks for that, will get a pair. It will only be about 20 feet from the hub it is just that the layout of my house (and that fact that it is rented) makes hard wiring awkward.

It features the new Skylake chip so it may take longer unless PCS managed to acquire a large bunch of them on initial release.

I certainly hope they did would be silly if they didn't, as they are advertising and selling them for sale. So I'm sure they have

I can confirm that, lol. I tried ordering my skylake setup at launch, the 5th of August. I placed my order a few hours after it hit the online store, I ordered it from. It said "Over 200 in stock". When I placed the order, all of the CPUs were already gone, and they had nothing left in stock. Same for other vendors in Ireland/UK. I spoke to someone from overclockers.co.uk and I believe they received a new batch of skylakes the 14th of August and they will receive new ones again the 21st of August. Don't think Intel had expected it to be so popular :)

I received an email today about my order regarding the motherboard and the ram - apparently there's an issue with this mobo and 3000mhz ddr4 ram

Yeah I got that today as well. This build actually comes with 2666Mhz ram though, so no need to worry/change anything.

I'm only on day 2 of pre-production :( trying to resist the fast track upgrade...

Ah I tried that, they wont fast track overclocked CPU's, they told me...

They did tell me that all the bits are in stock though, so it could be worse...

That's good to know.

Haven't seen the fast track upgrade. But it makes sense that they can't fast track an OC pc
