Gaming PC for around £2000 - halp

Hi clever people,

My current PC is 7 years old, so I'm looking for a full upgrade. I've always gone Intel, but after stalking the forums I've put together the build below.
I'm just looking for some advice really before I pull the trigger. I always say I'll upgrade parts etc but I never do, so I want something to last.

I'll be getting a 1440p 144Hz monitor too, but didn't want to confuse the issue by adding it to the build for pricing (although recommendations are definitely welcome)

Lastly, the case! This has been the hardest decision honestly. I'm not sure I'm in love with the case choice, but looks like good airflow and I didn't want things getting too warm. Am I needlessly worrying? I've also never gone liquid cooling and as I plan to have this PC for another 6-7 years, didn't want to worry about having to replace or change coolant - hence the Noctura.

Any and all help welcome, thanks!

The case is very important but there are a few good options to choose from. The one you choose is excellent, as is the case below. If you fancy something different post up which ones you like the look of and we can see what would be the best choice.

With 1440p 144hz you don't need to overshoot with the 2080 Super. I know you're thinking of longevity but GPUs don't work that way. You would be far better placed to go with the 2070 Super just now, save the cash for next year and buy the next big 1440p GPU as an upgrade. Systems can stay useful for 7 years at a time but in order to remain cutting edge you are going to have to upgrade the GPU. Everything else should happily support.

With the storage I swapped out the 660p as it's not a good drive for longevity.

With the cooling, you will never need to change anything on an AIO. This is all Chinese Whispers. I've personally had over 11 years with one AIO, my Dad is still currently using it. A high end AIO will see you through years of usage.

I step away for 10 minutes and I've already got a response :D
Thank you so much @Scott , you're a machine! Yeah I completely take your point about the 2070 Super and you're right. There's something about seeing your gpu at the top of the benchmarks, even for a little bit. I'll behave and probs go 2070 Super as you've recommended :ROFLMAO:.

Funny enough I was just checking out the Lian Li case as well, and its a little easier on the eyes (at least to me).

I feel a little more comfortable about AIO now, thanks. Is it worth upgrading to the big brother H115i?

See I had NO real idea about the 660p storage, only that I didn't think it was necessary for a 1T Samsung evo or whatever. Thanks a lot for the recommendation.

@Nursemorph I reckon £350-£400 ish? If there's a huge difference in quality by chucking a little more dosh at it, I can though haha. Appreciate the help as well.

Thanks a lot guys

If you can find a case you like that'll take the H115i then it's well worth it. The trouble is that PCS struggle to fit them into the cases.

If you wanted to stick with the 2080 Super then you could opt for an ultrawide monitor.

Thanks so much guys.

@Scott would the LIAN LI LANCOOL II GAMING CASE fit the H115i? Or would I have to go for a larger case?

@Nursemorph thanks for the recommendation. I'll probably go with a 27 inch option, so this looks pretty good. I'll use this as the benchmark for now. Scott's links to the ultra wides is danger territory! I'll behave and stick with the 2070 SUPER hah.
Saying that, if I used two screens (my current 27inch 60Hz as just a utility screen, not dual screen gaming) would that push the 2070 SUPER or will it handle it just fine? Thinking about say, watching youtube or general web usage at the same time?

A quick question about PCS's gpu's. They don't list the specs of them, should I call them to find out what brands they fit?

Thanks.

The 2070 Super will work fine with that utilisation.

PCS tend to use Palit or Zotac. If you give them a call they will tell you what they are currently fitting :)
