Gaming PC for >100 fps Warzone.

Hi,

I'm trying to build gaming pc for Warzone and other FPS games. Budget is max 1350£.

PC would be connected to oled tv (response time 1.6, input lag 7ms according to rtings.com) for few months until I get proper monitor.
TV is 120Hz so max 120 fps on 1080p or 1440p.

Please check my build below and if you can advise:

- do I need third party processor cooler or standard AMD cooler will do the job (up to 3-4 hours gaming sessions)?
- 1 SSD 1tb drive for windows and games or do I need separated hard drive ? It would be warzone and maybe 1-3 other games installed.
- selected motherboard - is it ok for this build and future upgrades like better GPU 3070, 3080, better processor ?
- should I get extra case fans, as selected case has 1x 120mm?
- and extra question about warzone if anyone knows - will 3060 be good for >100 fps on 1440p or it must be at least 3060Ti ? Low settings only.

I'm noob with PCs and apologies for any grammar mistakes - English is not my 1st language.

If I was you mate this is what I'd be going for, this is a 1080p build that should offer a solid performance with no hiccups. then I would start saving for a 3060Ti or a 6700XT to move to 1440p

You're making compromises in critical build areas like the case, motherboard and PSU so you can get a premium GPU. That makes no sense as the GPU is the component that will get changed the most so it should be the first place you try and make savings

This build is not only more balanced but offers clear upgrade paths and more importantly has the parts that can handle the upgrades

Thank you for the reply.
It does make sense. I didn't know 1660s would give me >100fps in warzone but just saw some yt tests and looks like it should do the job.
You have left standard amd cpu cooler so I'm taking it as it's good enough.
TBH I didn't realise that case and psu is that important.
Thanks.

Hey mate honestly you'll probably get consistently between 60-80fps with the 1660S, if you turn the graphics settings down you may reach 100FPS though. I think the 2060 is not much more expensive than the 1660S and that offers a nice bit of extra power if you wanted to go that route

The idea is to build a machine that will last 5-7 years minimum so I've done that above,

Stock CPU cooler is fine, you can always change it later if you decide you want to go that route.

Probably the 2 most important parts of a build, as you need enough power to power everything and also need good airflow and cooling, so that everything doesn't throttle back because of excessive heat

Thank you both.

One more question:

If I decide to go for 1440p build and use your configuration with 2 changes:
CPU - R5 3600 instead of R5 5600x,
RTX 3070 instead of 2060

Will it be ok ? I mean if that CPU won't "slow down" the GPU ? Can I expect more than 100 FPS in warzone on 1440p?

And Is it easy to upgrade CPU in the future the same way as GPU ?

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend that no, you're basically going for an older model CPU that's been vastly outperformed and improved upon by the 5600X in favour of a GPU that you'll likely change in the next couple of years

You can change a CPU yes but it isn't as simple as changing the GPU. You're much better going for a better CPU and making savings on the GPU as opposed to the other way round. Simply because the GPU is the part of the computer that will get changed the most, it's also the most expensive component so large savings can be made with less compromises.

By going for the 3600X instead of the 5600X you are sacrificing longevity for the sake of power right now. Which no one would recommend, especially with AMD likely announcing new CPU's in the next year that will push the 3600X back two generations
