Hi guys,

I am looking at getting my first ever PC after being an xbox player my whole gaming life but the problem is I have no idea about them and was hoping you could help me put together a decent spec for my budget. The monitor I currently use is 'MSI Optix MAG241C' 144hz 1080p. I will be mainly playing games like siege, pubg, gta and red dead, My max budget would be around £1300. I appreciate any help offered, thanks!

That's a very good build.

You can make a couple of adjustments if you wanted to save some cash:

Reduce processor to 3600 (non x) and reduce cooler to stock cooler

But TBH, what you've configured is quite a perfect build, considering it's your first, big congrats (y) 👏

Would it be worth upgrading the 1660 to the Ti version as, with the changes you suggested, that would still bring the price down by £150? Or would the even the Ti be overkill?
The TI is the older version which was replaced by the Super, there's very little difference in performance between them but a big price increase which doesn't make it good value.

Thank you for the feedback, I have changed the cooling to stock but left the processor as the 3700x as I'm still under budget and don't mind paying a bit more even if it's only a slight improvement. As for the build I can't take any credit really I just took from other threads and changed a few things.

I just want to say thanks again as this forum is extremely helpful for people like myself who have no idea about builds and I can now order my first gaming PC without having to worry about whether or not I've wasted my money on a poor build!

For an extra £15 or so... better get the 3800x ?
