As a build, it wont leave you wanting for much, I'd be a little concerned about the case
Its a big spend, what monitor are you using with this?
You dont need the strix board, the Tuf X570 is another option for the 5800X, and gaming isnt going to need 32GB but I dont know what your uni work is. Knowing more about types of programs will help highlight parts that need more consideration.

Do you have a budget you are working to? if no monitor already does that need to be included in that budget? You would be looking at ultrawide/super ultrawide 1440p monitors and 4K monitors so a good one can set you back a grand.

Hi there,
Looks like we’ve got a healthy budget here, but we could do with a bit of optimisation.
What is your budget?
What monitor do you have? Make/model or resolution and refresh rate would be handy to know. The 3080 is a monster of a GPU and really needs a 4K 144hz or a 1440p Superwide such as the Samsung G9 to make the most of it. If you are rocking anything less than this you would be better off pairing with a 3070 or lower, which will save you some money towards a new GPU in a few years time, and also speed up your build substantially as 3080s are in short supply worldwide at the moment.
Your storage seems a little excessive. 8tb of HDD is a lot more than most people need and will be a challenge to back up. I would normally recommend a 500GB m.2 for OS and programs, a slightly slower 1/2TB m.2 for your games, and a 2 TB HDD for general storage.
The STRIX motherboard is only really necessary with the 5900x CPU, it won’t do any harm but you can save a little by downgrading to the TUF X-570.
Any particular reasons for the case choice? Especially with the Capellix it should provide sufficient cooling but there are better airflow cases in its price point.
I would recommend removing Bullguard, it’s been known to cause issues and Windows Defender does it’s job very well.
Silver Warranty for £5 is well worth it.

Grabbing some shuteye now but happy to keep working with you on this in the morning.

Hi Thanks for your comment, I will be getting the Samsung G9 Odyssey if i order and get a expected delivery date. The Uni work and software for the multiple support software can be RAM intensive that's why I thought I go for the fast 3600Hz 32 GB.

The budget of the build is between £3000-£3500. monitor is not needed in this.

hope this helps

Hi MrWilson

Thanks for you feedback. budget is 3000-3500. I wanted to try and get to the 3080 for future proofing the system. I will be paring the system with the Samsung G9 as you say. I can alter the motherboard that's good. But the HHD well i have over 300 games on steam and when not doing UNI work I do play a lot of them. Most will be MMORPG and quite a few FPS and Open world games most AAA. I tend to have full HHD if I have anything less than 2TB, I also wanted to try and keep most of the Games on the M.2 drives for speed of loading and my uni work on the HHD, again I have a lot of large files to download and store for uni but does not need the speed of M.2.

The case i have no idea about to be honest it just looked like it do the job, i am a little clueless regarding air flow and such, that's why i thought about asking the more knowledgeable people about the build.

Question, with the monitor I am getting would the 3070 still do the job and play at 1440p or would i still be looking at the 3080 with the monitor?

Bulldog forgot to remove and i would increase the warranty by one service level.

Thanks

If you are getting a Samsung G9, stick with the 3080. If anything, theres an arguement for a 3090 (better waiting times and its only a little more than needed for a screen like the G9)
I would think about the Firecuda M.2, and changing it to a 500GB Samsung 980 (or even a 1TB) and having that for OS and programs.
Then you have the 2TB Samsung 980 as a games drive. (this is just taking advantage of the budget though)

8TB of HDD space is a lot, and the ironwolf arent as solid as the barracuda drives, i'd be tempted to take two 2TB barracuda ones and see how you do, HDD is cheap and easy to upgrade anyway, but still gets a little pricey when you look at a 8TB Ironwolf.

Tuf X570 is a suitable board, strix is a nice luxury, but no harm in it, i'd use it as a buffer for the budget a little.
Id def change the case, they have the Corsair 680X back in at the moment wich is an excellent case and will serve you veery well, but whatever you choose, id look at a proper case in terms of airflow, the NZXT isnt great.
Also th eoption of sending your own case in, so you can buy elsewhere and have it delivered to PCS and they will use it.
You will need to arrange that with PCS though, and include things like order number on the delivery address when you buy it.

Really depends if you want to trim the budget or not. The TUF gaming x570 board would suit a 5800x perfectly. The 3070 will drive a G9 over 60fps on most all games if you don’t ray trace. Look at the reviews online, the 3080 will get you some extra frames, depends on your requirements.
