Hi all personally speaking, i have had a Raptor mouse and pad for the last few years and would not be tempted with anything else, it is so true that most people who want to buy a rig from you guys will already have a decent keyboard and mouse. but it is nice to have the choice, which i think is more than enough.

Look at the Raptor Ryan as i think that they are the best out there (for me anyway). the mouse is the best as it just curves around your hand and feels so natural

The Razer Naga is one of my favourite mouses out there. I think PCS should stock these, but i think maybe more market research is needed. Since gaming hardware is mainly for pc enthusiast who usaly build thier on pcs anway. See if you will get enough people to buy them. But if you do i recommend the Razer Naga, Razor Lycosa, G15 Logitech (dont know if you already do thsi keyboard) Roccat Kone a few hardware products that people would want to buy.

I've quite happy with my bog standard ancient "emachines" media keyboard which I'm very suprised at, was defiintely the best bit of kit out of the whole PC bundle lol and last year I got a Gigabyte GM-M6800 mouse for a tenner. Got a DPI button to switch between (only) 2 different settings and a couple of thumb buttons but it does the job nicely and I'm happy with it :)
I just can't justify spending well over £50 on a mouse and the same amount again on a keyboard. It just seems crazy to me and they just can't bring that much of an advantage when gaming, not £50+ worth of advantage. Madness.

I have voted for the microsoft sidewinder keyboard and mouse as have this combo myself and it seems great quality and has all the macros you will ever need. I have the x8 and x6; or the latest keyboard and the latest mouse; whichever ones they are; the mouse with bluelight is excellent; cordless and up to 3000 dpi (er where did my cursor go?) setting. However, I understand that if you can get a good deal with a single supplier, i.e. Logitech, then their stuff is just as good, all down to personal preference.
I picked up a refurbished microsoft mouse on a certain bidding site for a buyitnow of 20 quid. Considering it costs 80+ which is ridiculous; i agree with JSG10 on that one, I thought it was a good deal, works great; if anyone is interested I have the sellers details as he can always get more. When i say refurbished, the only think that was changed was the original aa rechargeable which didnt work lol....i.e. noob user must have bought it and assumed it was all duff when it was just a bad cell. The sidewinder keyboard is illuminated well, and has a removable and reattachable numberpad for gaming, and for lefties! Gets my vote.....

I've just bought the Razer Nostromo. Primarily not for gaming but for use with Photoshop. Works a treat.

For me nothing comes close to a Razer mouse. However I do lug my laptop around with me quite a lot, and don't want such an expensive mouse in my laptop bag because it'll either get broken or stolen. So I have a dirt cheap, click scroll, wireless mouse too, literally as cheap as I can get. It'll probably break but then I'll buy another one, it will have lived out it's worth.

But more importantly at work and sometimes when I game I use an ergonomic mouse with a handshake grip (check it out) because gaming and working put massive strain on my mouse hand. My problem is there's never enough selection of truly ergonomic mice and never any actual vetting my gamers on which ones are actually any good. I don't like having to go on what the manufacturer says is good about their mouse. That said the Evoluent has served me well at work and stood in for my Razer at times too.

Anybody else have RSI issues?

And what I'm basically getting at: PCSpecialist should totally look into them and recommend some. I'm just waiting for the day Razer or another big mouse maker brings out a fully featured truly ergonomic mouse.

I can sort of see paying extra for keyboards/mice but not £100 more I'm getting a £15 mouse with a couple of thumb buttons and a backlit keyboard for about £20, that is all you need

Trust me its worth it :)

I know you think "what can be the difference", the answer is a lot. I have several cheap £5 mice lying around, mainly ones I use for installing old operating systems on pcs, I have a Logitech MX5000 which ive always though was great, then I got my Razer Mamba the other day, wow, never used anything like it before. Its incredible.

As for keyboards, i guess it depends what your after. Im always after a keyboard im comfortable using since I will be spending about 9 - 15 hours a day on it. I need something that I can type fast on but also get good feedback through my fingers as to whether the keys have been presssed etc as I dont look at screen or keyboard when I type.

Also gaming keyboards have a couple of features which are brilliant, you can lock the windows key out, best feature of the lot, since so many times youll goto press ctrl or alt and press windows instead and end up at your desktop and dead in the game. The other is macro keys, which I must admit I dont use a whole load but very handy for quick or repetitive key combos.

Id say the Mamba is easily worth it at nearly £100 and the keyboard depending on your use is worth it at just over £100.

The last thing the Goliathus mouse mat is awesome, I have the control one (large version) and its so nice to use comapred to other mouse mats I have. Well worth the money.

I'm thinking of replacing my £5 tat. What makes the £100 worth it Frenchy? Is it feel, speed or what?

The feel of it is amazing, fits perfectly in my hand and doesnt get tiring, the press of the buttons is just right, you dont need to press too hard and buttons dont go off accidently (as they do on my logitech).

The Mamba has 5600dpi although this can be changed, this means it is extremely sensitive, althoguh buttons on the mouse itself can be used to change the dpi to a lower level for example when sniping or needing to do something very accurate.

The smoothness of the mouse is amazing, it just glides across the surface, and infact using the mousemat I have it is sooo smooth. I think also the weight of the mouse is perfect, although different weights are suitable for different people.

The last thing id mention is that the Mamba is a gaming grade mouse, however it is also wireless. Most gaming mice are wired, and those that are wireless have bad response times etc. The mamba has a 1ms response time comapred with for example an 8ms response on a normal wirless mouse. Also you can change the poll speed to 1000Hz or if you want a longer battery life then you can turn it down to 250 or 500Hz.

Thanks. Great stuff - might have to get myself one of those - I'll just close my eyes when the price comes up!

If you dan't want to spend £100 on Mamba, Razer deathadder would be a good buy, I have and its really good. It has 3500dpi but you don't really need more for gaming or daily use.
Deathadder is around a £50, and imo paying another £50 for having a wireless with more dpi that wouldn't be even useful is a waste of cash.

I use mine on 5000 lol, will be very good on my triple monitors too. But yeah the deathadder is meant to be really good. The really good thing about the blackwidow is that you can run it as a wired mouse and charge it at the same time too.
