Gaming Desktop for just over £2k check please?

Does this build make sense? I was originally trying not to go over £2k, but caved.... so now I'm just trying to keep it in the low 2k's territory.

I want primarily a gaming PC. I have an idea which Graphics card.... and that's about it! Play Eve Online, iRacing, PUBG, so Flight Sim 2020... So I would like to do VR in future. Want it to last a good few years, without being at the bleeding edge of tech where prices are a premium.

Would like some colour, but only a little, hence the case choice where the RGB fans are visible. Beyond that want it to be quiet, but doesn't need to be silent.

I have HDD for storage space from my old PC. Can use the old license too.

Anyway, here's the spec, any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Right this is where I'd take things, with only a 60Hz 4k monitor you don't need a 3080, which is more suited to a 144Hz 4k or a G9, so I've opted for a 6700XT as the the only 3070 available is the over priced Rog Strix, I've also upped the M.2 to a 980 and changed the PSU to the 1000W RMx which will give plenty of headroom to upgrade to 4k 144Hz setup in the future, and you've got £1 of your original £2K budget to treat yourself to a coffee in McDonalds

I would want to improve the storage, PSU and cooling, but that would bust the budget more than you already have. The 5800x runs hot. I am not sure you need a 3080 for 4K 60Hz, but am not sure for FS2020. Others will probably chip in. Unfortunately, the 3070 is on pre-order, so might have a long build time.

I think there may be a bug in the configurator when selecting warranty. There are 2 versions of the gold warranty, one of which is £1 more than silver and the other £64.

EDIT: beaten to it. I saw the dreaded green box appear.

I would think about adding a 1TB Intel 670p for fast game storage. This would take the cost of the build from @Martinr36 to £2100.
Good call as it looks as though only HDD from old PC, talking of which, what are you doing with that, if not going to use it, you could transfer the windows license and save some money (would probably pay for that 1TB M.2)

Thanks for the suggestions @Martinr36, @Bigfoot and @3qtrsamericano.

I'm not wedded to that monitor, it's just what I have at the moment. In fact it's a pain as 4k on that size feels almost counter productive, causing more bother than benefit! But that's an upgrade for another day.

I was keen to go down the NVidia route though and as you point out about the 3070, it doesn't seem like a great idea to go for.

It's a good point about the OS, I do have that covered.
