But on the other hand all of these will launch with the top tier components first. A 12400 and RX 6600 equivalent is likely to be at least six months away. For a top-end system, I'd hold off. For a low mid tier system, I wouldn't expect anything better soon, certainly not this year.
Normally it's the xx90, xx80 and xx70 to be released in the first wave.

Current rumours are end of October / beginning of November release for the 4070 which will be the last of the first batch with 4090 first, then 4080, then 4070.

For £1500 budget though, I'd be factoring in a very healthy 4070 build.

Anything at the moment is hearsay, there's no official announcements as yet, but these are all industry rumours along with previous generation release windows.

Ok, so I've wobbled my head a bit to have a think. I've read up about the up coming hardware (I used to be up to date back in the XP days) and the views seem a little conflicted. Some say it's coming soon, some say the specs I want could be up to a year off!

It seems like a gamble, nobody honestly knows.

I respect your view 'SpyderTracks', and you may well be right, but I think this build is a massive upgrade for me and I'm going to go with it - plus my daughter will still get a lot out of the old battle axe GTX 1060.

Thanks for all the help and info,

Cheers.
