Dear PC Specialist Forum Members,
I am writing to seek assistance with a persistent issue affecting my PC during high-load scenarios. Below, I’ve outlined my setup, the symptoms, and the troubleshooting steps I’ve taken so far. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

PC Specifications

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU (Driver Version: Latest as of November 2024)
  • Integrated GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (Driver Version: Latest as of November 2024)
  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4
  • PSU: 230W

Symptoms

  • Frequent black screens occur during high-load scenarios, such as running multiple applications simultaneously.
  • The screen goes black, and the PC becomes unresponsive for about 10 seconds before it resumes operation, with all applications coming back to work as they were. Only rarely do I need to restart it manually.
  • Usually no dump and minidump files are generated after the crash. Below you can see from event viewer that watchdog file is generated but it is not like this, i can't see any watchdog file

Error Logs Avviso 20/11/2024 20:03:09 Display 4101 Nessuna

I don't know how to attach here the files form event viewer so i have to paste them

Can you please navigate to the folder C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\Watchdog. Look for for dump files in that folder (those ending in .dmp). Upload to a cloud service all the dump files that you find and post a link to them here.

Also please download the SysnativeBSODCollectionApp and save it to the Desktop. Then run it and upload the resulting zip file to a cloud service with a link to it here. The SysnativeBSODCollectionApp collects all the troubleshooting data we're likely to need. It DOES NOT collect any personally identifying data. It's used by several highly respected Windows help forums (including this one). I'm a senior BSOD analyst on the Sysnative forum where this tool came from, so I know it to be safe.

You can of course look at what's in the zip file before you upload it, most of the files are txt files. Please don't change or delete anything though. If you want a description of what each file contains you'll find that here.

I really hate it when we don't know the cause of the problem. It could have been a driver issue certainly but 'uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers a few times' doesn't sound like a long-term fix. Still, as long as you're happy.

If it does fail again please upload the Sysnative data collector app output as advised above.
