You literally go onto DOCP/XMP and enable it and choose a profile with speed. It’s very easy. Although there is a slight chance, it will be unstable - in which case, clock the speed down

Well, my first attempt didn't work - changed it from Auto to DOCP, and the PC just refused to start up - got to the logo screen and just sat there until I hit the reboot button...then the same thing, but I got a BSOD. I then rebooted it again, went into the BIOS and set it back to Auto and it now works. Somewhat disappointing that running this £5000+ machine with the RAM at its rated speed (that I paid a lot for) kills it. I shall continue to try tweaking things...
Clock the ram speed down to 3533mhz (i think it is) and it should be stable. Unfortunately, it is an issue with Asus boards and 4 sticks at 3600mhz.

I clocked it down to 3200MHz (the PC came with 2666MHz RAM and was set to that) and it started up ok. I've now set it to 3400MHz; I'll try 3533MHz next.

...and it's totally unstable even at a lowly 3200MHz, which is obviously incredibly disappointing. Had lots of black-screen-flashes, but the system continued to function, then a BSOD/stopcode. I assume there must be some tweaking I can do to get this thing working as it should?!

Just try installing the latest chipset drivers as often windows update applies the incorrect one which leads to loads of BSODS.
Can you post your full specs from the order page just so we’re sure of what was ordered?

If the date makes it look like there was a new driver in April 2021, then ignore it, as the date format is American MM/DD/YYYY.

Well, I ran some Windows updates and installed the latest chipset drivers. I think I was running at 3200MHz, and did that same After Effects render and After Effects crashed. Just for fun, I then tried cranking up the RAM to 3600MHz, and the thing wouldn't even boot into Windows. I'm currently re-running that render, with the RAM set back to 3200MHz.
I read that people are suggesting updating the BIOS. Might that be a good idea perhaps? I'm not sure what version I'm on - I'm currently waiting for Cinebench to run, to see if (a) it'll crash and (b) if the score with the RAM at 3200MHz will be any better than my earlier score of 21553 with 2666MHz RAM.

The BIOS should be a last minute requirement and needs to be done under PCS guidance as part of their warranty terms and conditions.
just wondering, I take it you’re using the creator drivers rather than gaming?

I assume you're talking about the Nvidia drivers? Yes, Studio drivers or whatever they call the non-gaming ones these days.
BUT - I just ran another test on that After Effects project, with GPU rendering OFF, and After Effects still crashed! Weird. Maybe my PC just really hates that particular project.
Well - Cinebench just finished, with a multi-core score of 23850 @ 3200MHz RAM, as opposed to 21553 @ 2666Mhz. So that RAM speed (for this test, anyway) certainly makes about a 10% difference.

Just as a test, I’d uninstall the GPU drivers with DDU, then install the game drivers and see if it crashes then. We had someone else with instability on the creator drivers, it would help narrow down the cause:

The RAM that came with the build was a single stick of 4GB. I thought it was 2666MHz for some reason (as I mentioned above), but it was actually 2400:
4GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (1 x 4GB)
When I first received the machine, I fired it up, did the Windows install thing, checked it all worked, then shut it down and (very carefully) removed the 4GB and put my 128GB Patriot RAM in.

I went ahead and ran DDU (twice, in safe mode, disconnected from the internet) then (still disconnected) installed the game drivers. I then loaded up my trusty, crashy, After Effects project and set it rendering. Better news - this time, After Effects actually threw a proper error rather than just crashing. I then quit and reloaded After Effects, and the screen started doing its weird black thing, as you can see in the screenshot. This was similar behaviour to what happened earlier - it looks very much (to my untrained eye) like a GPU issue:

So shortly after I posted that screenshot, I restarted it, went into the BIOS again,and thought I'd try setting the memory to 3400MHz, then exited the BIOS thing...it started to reboot, but nothing - just a black screen. I waited a good 5 minutes, while nothing at all happened (fans & lights are running). I then held the power button down to turn it off, then back on again, and still nothing - not even the BIOS screen. The PC seems to have died. I've also tried pressing/holding down F2 after switching it on....but nothing. Just black screen. Any thoughts, anyone? Please?
